| I take my dogs every chance I get when I leave for errands. My kids are with me too so when I run into a store my oldest who is going to be 13 stays in the car with them.I do take them to all the Doggy boutiques and Pet Smart.I am wanting to take my pups or at least Jasper to the Mall to get a picture taken with the Easter Bunny. We were there today and I saw two dogs with there owners and no one said anything. So I guess it is ok.I would love to plan a get together this Summer with those who live in the Decatur area.Have Puppy play days.I would also puppy sit too for those who live near me.I think it would be fun and that way my dogs would have a guest to play with and the guest won't miss thre mommy/daddy as much because they will be busy playing. |

| I've taken Cassi to most of the stores and never had any problem. I usually keep her in the bag and when she starts to fuss a bit, I immediately leave the store unless they allow pets. One place I would never take her to is Target. We've taken Cassi to Target a few times and never had an issue. Until one day one of the Target employee told us that pets were not allowed and we said their was no signs on the door and also she was in a bag. So DH decided to take Cassi outside anyway, but since it was raining he stood between the two sliding doors. In any case, the front store manager gave my DH a real hard time and told him to 'get out of the store' and that he couldn't be on the premise. That's when DH asked to speak to the general manager, at which point the front store manager started to make a huge stink about it and started yelling and even cursing at him, she even stepped up to him and another employee had to pull her back. In any case, this whole thing left a real sour taste in my mouth and it was so embarassing. After leaving Target, I was still so upset that I called and asked to speak to the general manager (who appeared at the end of the whole embarassing scene) and filed a complaint. A few days later Target HR called and apologized and said that they would start affixing signs on the door to say 'no pets allowed'. Well after that incident I never went back to that Target.

| I take Hannah lots of places. Miley is still really young so I havent taken her anywhere but to the vet. Not old enough for all her puppy shots yet ![]() Hannah goes with me in her little pet purse. Most of the time nobody knows she is in there. One time I snuck her into Walmart and we were by the TV's and she seen a dog on the tv and barked one time. People looked at me and I said "BARK BARK" lol and they went on about their business. I guess they think I was crazy or something haha. I take her to the bank. They have a bucket of suckers for kids and bucket of Milk Bones for dogs We go in sometimes and sometimes through the drive thru and they give her treats. She is known at many of the fast food places and each one gives her a special "FOOD TREAT" lol like the DQ here gives her a small dish of Ice Cream (Vanilla of course). I have a carrier I bought a long time ago that you wear in front like a baby carrier and their feet stick out the front in little holes and a tail hole too. Its ADORABLE and she loves it. She gets to be right with mommy up close and personal. Problem is when Miley gets older I dont know if I can sneak 2 dogs in together...but I know I wont seperate them and take only one. Ill probably have to make my own carrier/bag to fit 2 pupcakes comfortably. ![]() ![]() |

| Mine are fun to take if I go to Lowes and Home Depot. People always such a cute fuss over them. I took Harley once when he was a puppy to Wlamart and someone there said it was against store policy becasue part of the store has food. Ok i get that. Once in awhile I leave them in my truck if i have to run into the grocery for something quick. I try not to do that though.I've heard stories of yorkies being stolen form peoples cars. They just soooo love going for a ride with mommy.

| I've always been scared to take Silvia into many places, but I have taken her to Wal-Mart before. She was in an enclosed purse, and I just sat it in the seat part of the buggy. No one really noticed, so I just went about my business. DH and I went to McAllister's one night to eat and she was with us. I didn't want to leave her in the car, so I put her in her purse and we sat in the outside eating area. It was pretty cold that night so I took my jacket off and draped it over her purse so the wind wouldn't hit her as much. When the waiter brought our food out, he noticed her shivering and commented that she must be cold. A few minutes later, the manager came out and asked us to bring her in so she wouldn't freeze, but to be inconspicuous and leave her in the purse. He was very nice, but that probably isn't the norm. I also have a friend that has a chihuahua and she takes her into Lowe's and Home Depot in her purse and has never had a problem. I think it really depends on who pays attention and what mood they're in.

| apparently Target and walmart have strick rules about no dogs in their stores. in strollers, carriers purses or whatever. For walmart their door greeters are trained to "Look" for dogs being sneeked in. My father in law was a walmart greeter and he said a few people would hide their dogs in their coats and he'd look the other way. ( huge dog lover) but he said it wasn't worth losing his job over if dogs were in the store during his shift. So even though he didn't see anything wrong with 'pursedogs' going in the store, he'd have no choice but to call out the owners. ![]() It's to bad a few irresponsible dog owners have ruined it for the rest of us. before I got Madison we took lexie everywhere. Have even been traveling and carried her in her case into eateries. Knowing we were taking a risk and willing to leave if asked to. Most places will allow your dog in a carrier if you're willing to sit in the patio. ( which we are so we can have our dog with us) But now that we have 2 dogs, I tend to leave them home more as for me its harder to handle 2 especially an active and curious puppy. |

| YT 1000 Club Member | They are aloud at our Farmer's Market but they have a sign saying they're not allowed if not on a leash. I will only take Roxie in a carrier (the kind I can carry her strapped on to me or a sling) that way she is safe from the other dogs. Plus it gets so busy I don't want her getting stepped on. I've seen people have their little yorkies in strollers in the mall. I want one of those so bad. You can do more. One time DH and I were driving to Florida and it was very hot and too hot to leave her in the car which I won't do anyway. I zipped her into her bag and carried her into a fast food place to get a to go order. No one said anything. Florida seems more pet friendly, I see alot of dogs at outdoor cafe's on a leash. |

| Harley and I have been asked to leave Walmart, when he was in his carrier. If the greeter had been standing up doing her job she would have never even seen him, but that is a different rant! In his carrier, Harley has been into malls, Target (regular store, not a supercenter), Lowes, Best Buy, Kmart, and I sure that there are a few others! On leash other than "pet stores" he goes into Tractor Supply, Rural King, and a few other locally owned stores. Jeri and Harley |

| I thought of another adventure that I took Chloe on when I first got her. We went antiquing! Everyone loved her! I carried her around and no one said a word! We do this monthly! It's a lot of fun...

| To be considered a "service dog" you would have to have a disability documented by a Dr and then the Dr will write out a rx that the dog will "help" whatever the disability is. Then this has to be approved by the insurance company. Since i have depression as one of my disabilities i may be able to have my Dr write this as a rx and try to "write" Sweet Pea off on my taxes. Not sure if it will work, well see. Nicole |
