I've always been scared to take Silvia into many places, but I have taken her to Wal-Mart before. She was in an enclosed purse, and I just sat it in the seat part of the buggy. No one really noticed, so I just went about my business. DH and I went to McAllister's one night to eat and she was with us. I didn't want to leave her in the car, so I put her in her purse and we sat in the outside eating area. It was pretty cold that night so I took my jacket off and draped it over her purse so the wind wouldn't hit her as much. When the waiter brought our food out, he noticed her shivering and commented that she must be cold. A few minutes later, the manager came out and asked us to bring her in so she wouldn't freeze, but to be inconspicuous and leave her in the purse. He was very nice, but that probably isn't the norm. I also have a friend that has a chihuahua and she takes her into Lowe's and Home Depot in her purse and has never had a problem. I think it really depends on who pays attention and what mood they're in.
