| Glad you found something that worked, but as for the rest of the group just make sure whatever you get you can return. I got one of those sonic gizmos for my girlfriend's dog that everybody was raving about -- he barks at the TV. Didn't work at all on him. |

| The thing I worry about a device like this, aside from creating trust issues is that I have another dog who does not bark. How can you direct something like this at the trouble dog? My little yorkie mix is a yapper. she'll bark at nearly everything. My cats get her to bark at them so they can see her get in trouble :P |

| OK, after a 4 day long weekend, I am sold! It was nice weather for a couple of days so there were several walkers and bike riders going by the front window. My Maddie lays in wait on top of the sofa in the den looking into the formal living room so she can wait for someone to dare walk by HER house on HER street. Then she leaps off and tears off into the dining room and living room to bark at them to tell them to stay off HER street. After a couple of time of a quick press of the button and the quiet command, all it took was just the quiet command. The most amazing thing was when someone walked by with a dog on a leash. She barked a couple of times and then actually did quit barking when I said quiet. It has not stopped her from reacting to someone walking by and running to the window to bark at them, but at least it has given me a way to quiet her. I would imagine to use it to keep a large dog away from you if you are out walking one would press and hold the button down. So, it would not be something you would want to use when out for a walk with your own dog, because your dog would hear the noise as well. When I use it to control barking, I just quickly press and release. If anyone has any ideas to keep her from reacting to someone walking by on the street, I would love to hear them. Yes, I know dogs need/want to bark to warn us, but these people are not even in my yard. I have a pretty large front yard and they are on the street. Funny thing is, she does not bark at the doorbell and does not bark at people when they come in the door. But the street.... another story... |

My dogs are much better about barking since I started using it and they seem to know what it means. I say quiet first, then I press it once if they do not stop. It has NO effect on my cocker spaniel even when I am next to her and press it. | |

| My guy does the same thing, barks at a leaf rolling by, a bird flying, or sometimes nothing at all. What is the bark repeller, is that the noise that only they can hear, because I tried that along with the citronella spray and water bottle and coins in a can. I won't do the shock collar because I already have that for the outdoor invisible fence so don't want to confuse him, but I agree with you it's frustrating, sometimes I have to leave the room when I'm on the phone or put him in his crate which I have been doing but he ends up there a lot and I feel bad he is spending most of his day in there and not learning from it. |

YT Addict | Can someone tell me the official name of the device from Petsmart for $10......I have had dogs all my life and never had a barker. Not even my other yorkey, BJ (rip). But now my little Gabby is a definite barker. And, I understand my new baby, which I pick up tonight at the airport (woo-hoo) is also very vocal. I might to invest in one of these.
