I don't know how dogs ears work, but it seems like I've read that humans lose hearing in the upper ranges first, I wonder if the same is true of dogs? I imagine when they do a hearing test, they just do a voice type of hearing test, not a machine, but I don't know. Cockers don't bark as much as yorkies do they?

| I have the bark repeller and love it. I now only have to pick it up and show it. Don't even have to press the button. Baxter is my barker. I let him bark at the door and thank him. But barking just for the heck of it is not allowed. The can of coins just scared him and made him cower. This didn't scare him, just made him stop.

| I truly don't believe it does. We have the really big dog. Baxter is the 10lb and then the little girls. When we use the repeller for one of course they all hear it. No one seems pained but they know who is getting 'in trouble'. The innocent ones stop and peer at the offender with that ''you got in trouble nanny nanny boo boo" look that doesn't indicate any sort of discomfort. No one runs from the area, they all stand in place and watch the scolding and then return to their games or whatever. Occasionally, some have been known to sleep right through whatever the 'noise' is. Of course, now we hardly ever have to press the button.....just point and not shoot...LOL

| I bought the one from Amazon, and it definitely works for my 4 furgirls. The only one that continues to bark is my very old deaf Schnauzer boy... cause he can't hear it. It is amazing, and only about $10. So many people who have seen it work well for me have ordered their own. My pool man can't quit thanking me as it cured his Pom's barking in one day. My dogs still get to bark a bit, to announce people arriving, or certain other things, but it is nice to be able to get them to stop when it goes too far.

I wouldn't use the bark repeller for anxiety because it is not a behavioral issue it is a phsychological problem and would just cause the dog more issues. You can't stop anxiety without finding and addressing the source.

| Did anyone find that this does NOT work for them? After repeated use, my boys are still barking. In fact, the barking increases when I use it, and they also start growling. Perhaps I am using it wrong? How long are you supposed to hold it down? Is it important to push the button right as the barking starts? (And yes, I did put a battery in it! lol)

| shock collar I dont like those....Armani just started barking like crazy. I asked a co-worker who also has a Yorkie and recommend a water spray to stop him from barking. I think I'm going to try that instead |
