Has anyone tried using http://pet.imageg.net/images/prodTab...ctFeatures.gif These highly absorbent pads make housetraining your puppy quicker and easier. Extra-thick top layer is 50% thicker than standard pads to resist tearing and retain maximum moisture. Contains special "Go Here" pheromones, a scent detected only by dogs which attracts them to the pads. Absorbs up to 100 times its volume in liquid, making it one of the most absorbent pads available. Advanced Odor Control System with Ammonia Guard delivers a long lasting, clean scent. Built-in dispose ties make clean up easy. Each pad measures 22" x 23". Great for puppies, indoor pets and senior pets. Also perfect for travel and are ideal for use in pet carriers. I thought about buying some. you really can smell the scent on them. just thought i would ask.

So far my Yorkie is doing very well with the pads. she sleeps in the bed with me at night. i get up two times in the middle of the night and put her on her pad. and soon as it get up in the moring i put her on her pad and she goes. question is am i doing anything wrong by putting her on her pad or should i let her walk to it? Since i have brought my Yorkie home. i have been walking her around My church parking lot, for about 30 min every night, with water stops. Is it ok for me to walk her that long.. every night she sleeps very well. is there anything wrong with this?

Day 3 Lily slept all nite again up @ 5:00 played and back to bed. No potty action. Later went to the holistic vet in Montclair. They changed her food from Eukanuba to BilJac said it was better if I'm going to leave her alone all day. Also said I was supposed to wet her Eukanuba but no one mentioned that to me. 3rd Shot was delayed till next wk. She is on 4 shot schedule now instead of 5. Vet feels that was too many shots. She threw up on the ride home. This is the 2nd time she's been in a car and 2nd car sickness. I need to find out what to do or if they grow out of it. Last tip was that the crate I'm using may be too big which might be why she potties in there. I was told to add some more "furniture" to her den. I came home and put a box in there to make it smaller. She immediately started using the crate to lie down in and went pee & poo on the pee pad in the litter box! I didn't witness the action so couldn't reward her. Not as much barking and whining today either. I go back to work tomorrow.

A 30 min walk is wonderful, as long as she is tolerating it then go for it. The big plus is it will help tire her out. just wanted to mention a few posts up I have a link that goes to the "Don't Pee on That" potty support group ... if you want to post in there as well

Potty training support group My little girl is now 11 months old. We got her when she was 3 months old. She will go potty outside during the night, she wakes me up. But during the day it is a real chore. She does not ask to go out, as she does at 1am , so I have to take her out about every two hours just to get her to pee. Getting her to poop is another story - she leaves me presents, as we call them now, all over the house. Everytime we have "had it" so to speak, she just looks at us with those beautiful eyes and adorable face and we fall in love with her all over again. Help!!!

Lily Day 4 Home Alone This just goes to show you how little it takes sometimes to bring me joy. This was my 1st day back @ work and Lily had to stay home all day alone. I did come home at lunch time to check on her and let her out to play for about 10 min. She woke up around 5:00 am but I got up primarily to see if/where she has gone to the bathroom thru the night. I was greeted by both poo & pee in the litter box and a dry towel in her crate. At lunch I when I came home I discovered another spot of pee on the pad in the litter box. I returned home tonite around 5:30 and didn't really notice anything new. I took out her old pad and straightened out her area, checking food & water. I then played with her out of the pen. I made a sort of runway area for her out of a plastic runner I got @ Home Depot. I don't have to worry about staining if she decides to do her business on the sly. I sit on the bottom of my stairs put a harness and leash on her and she can only run that distance back & forth. Carpet stays clean. After about 10-15 mins of her being out. I put her back in the pen on the pad which she jumped out of (she always does). So I left her there barking & whining. I changed my clothes and when I returned there was a new poo & pee right on the pad. No accidents today and without me even being home. I feel good. I know it's temporary but I'm a happy girl right now!

| 5 months and not potty trained! Help!? My little Morkie is almost 5 months old and still doesn't seem to understand at all that she HAS to let me know in some way that she has to GO OUTSIDE! She seems mostly to pee and poop in my bedroom. I read somewhere that Yorkies don't get trained before 15 weeks. Is this true and I'll take all the helpful ideas I can get. I'm moving to a new place this weekend and I don't want to let the carpets get dirty or smell this smell anymore. She SO intelligent in every other way. I just don't understand this. Thank you! | Lily Day 5 Still Home Alone Today was pretty much a repeat of yesterday accept she did not make any noise this morning until I went in to check on her. All business had hit its intended target. One accident occurred when I put her back in her pen area after letting her play & get some exercise. When I returned her to the pen and placed her in the litter box with my command, well, as usual she never stays in the litter box. So I just leave the room and when I come back she has finished. This morning I think she was so excited from playing that she had her #2 right at the side of the panel where she jumps up & down. I calmly cleaned the area and left for work. The rest of the day was fine & accident free. I finally got to witness my 1st "Lily poop" in the litter box. I got to celebrate and give her the 1st treat for a job well done. She has been doing what she's supposed to do but I have never seen her do it. She went to bed even earlier tonite. Around 8:45. She seems to be getting used to our routine of her coming upstairs with me and lying on my lap while we watch The View & the Animal Planet. Afterward I take her downstairs, cover her crate and turn off the light. Off to sleep she goes. |

potty training I would love to join the potty support group. My Tessie is 4 months old. I got her on mothers day. She will use the potty pads sometimes but only once and then she wants a new pad ( very expensive). I work on taking her outside with very little luck and then she will come in the house and go to the pad. I really need help.
