![]() ![]() **My suggestion would be to pick up Bella's downstairs bed at night so that she doesn't try to get comfy when she comes in from a potty adventure. You need to put a stop to taking her out in the middle of the night so if she really has to go potty at 2 am ![]() ![]() ![]() She is doing it out of attention I think. My sister has a Dob that does this to her every night and then expects a treat to boot ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Katy is 4 months and has not had an accident in over two weeks. We are using the wee wee pads. I don't care where she is now, she goes to her pad. I can tell you it takes total devotion in working with them to train them. I am retired so I had the time. She sleeps with us and during the night if she has to go, she wakes me up and then goes back to bed. Remember, we are the ones that are trained when they are puppies. Leaving her unattended sets her up for failure. Good luck!!!!

| ![]() Hang tough mom! She is just a baby and that is what they do! I have a 13 week old at home and he is beyond hyper. What I do is wear him out. We are also in the NE and it has been cold and damp. So we stay inside and play fetch and dog tug-of- war with socks. I do this about 3 times a day, sometimes up to 30-50 minutes. It wears him out and he naps then, and does not tear up anything. Well, maybe kleenex if I leave it where he can get it. I also buy chewies for him that help with his teething. Hope this helps...... best of luck |

Please be patient. She's just a baby. Does she have any hard teething toys to chew on. Be sure she has some for when she's penned or crated. Mine always loved the rubber squeaky toys when they were teething. If you can't take jer outside to get her tired..at least give her a playtime workout. And to repeat....if you don't have the time and patience..please give someone else a chance at giving her a happy well adjusted life, especially while she's still so young. JMHO

| ![]() Ralph maddy I think you will find the time, and sometimes patience wears on all of us with puppies. Just like children, when the going gets tough......bring them to Grandmas! ![]() |

| ![]() The first few months of having a puppy are very difficult. They're learning a lot and so are we. I think most of us have gone through or are going through these exact things. Hang in there, it will get better. |

| ![]() Oh I feel the pains of potty training. Trust me I went through a lot of the same feelings of frustration with SophieKate. I tried pad training and that never did work so I went directly into crate training and so far kind of good (knock on wood). I got SophieKate when she was three months old back in September and I was clueless on how to potty train a dog. After a few days of failed attempts with the pads I went out and bought a small ICrate. This crate was just big enough for her to stand up and turn around but it had all the comforts of home (a nice lambs wool pad and her fleece blanket). The most important suggestion I got was getting the small crate and in the beginning do not put their food and water in with her. That came with a warning of making sure my puppy gets out of the crate on a regular basis for water and to eat. Second thing I had to discover was her schedule and try to work it into my schedule. At first I took her out every hour during the day and whenever she whined at night. That was only for a very short time, I than increased it to every two hours and I tracked what she would "do". We are now at it for 6 months and I would safely say SophieKate is 95% potty trained. The times she does have a pee accident is when I am not paying attention to her or the time - that is totally my fault. As far as crate training, SophieKate still goes into her the crate (a bigger model) when she is home alone. She doesn't seem to mind it, in fact I leave the door open on her crate and she will go in there and take a nap when we are home. I also leave fresh water in her crate and if I am going to be gone for a while I will put food in there for her. Potty training has given me gray hairs but the puppy kisses are so worth the gray hairs. Hang in there, you will figure it out with a lot of good advice from fellow Yorkie Talkers.

Provide soft terry cloth squeaky toys for her to chew on, and reward her with treats for chewing on them when you are home on the weekend too. | |

| ![]() I, personally, got the impression you were really considering giving her up. So happy to know different now. I'd say you have a pretty good schedule there. I'm not letting my yorkies read it. They'll feel so neglected by me and might consider running away from home to go to your house. LOL

Anyway, it does get better. I feel for you though, I had two peeing and pooping on the floor. I went to Home Depot and bought a 6X9 of the vinyl flooring (about $25) and put that on our floor-we have tile on our floor but I didn't want them peeing on that. So then I put the 4X8 expen over the vinyl tile and then put their potty tray(2) in there with the washable pads. I finally had to sit down far enough away from them not to play with me but waited for them to start playing and every time they went toward the pad to chew it up, I would in a firm and louder voice than I use and tell them "NO!" and then give them a treat when they walked away. Within about a week, they quit tearing them up. But it took me awhile to actually do this... I just "put up with it" for awhile, I have no idea why. I started Friday night after work and then worked with them Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday and they got the idea. Then once or twice that next week, they tore up the pads during they day while I was at work, but I would say within that next week working with them in the evenings and that next weekend - they got the idea. You might try getting something strong while she's teething.. Like some strong denim material and tie knots in the ends, soak in water and freeze it and put that in her area while you are at work. I hope this helps. If you need any other info or ideas, feel free to PM me and I'll give you my telephone number and you can call me. I feel for you, I honestly do! Just be glad that you don't have 2 yorkies doing it! lol One is definitely hard enough.

| ![]() Looks like a great schedule. Charlie's schedule was very similar to that one. Good luck. Things will get better as your baby grows older. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Thank you I really appreciate the feed back on the schedule. I worked hard on it and I was hoping that it was good for her.. Can't wait to get back from vacation to start her on it. I'm actually going this weekend to get her a new crate because the one she has now she's actually pooped n pee'd in it already and I feel like she hasn't distinguished what's what... So I'm hoping the wire one is good....
