| Sorry about that - I just noticed in your signature line that you have 3 dogs. Your profile says that you're looking for another one - right? So this is starting to be a business - not just a hobby.

I know too many breeder/exhibitors and have been to their homes, their girls run together, whether they are in Season or not.....no problems, no aggessiveness. I've never had a problem either.

There are those that breed to better the breed and then there are those that breed to sell puppies.....

She was a dog that was filthy, sick with worms, ear & eye infections, matted to the skin, and reeked of urine! She was kept in a garage with dirty bedding and dried/stale food. It was obvious the dog had never been socialized or used to any normal household noises. My vet & grooming bills far exceeded what it would have cost me to buy a puppy from a reputable breeder. Which is why I'm always worried when people look to just buy the cheapest puppy they can find because it can come out costing them a lot more in the long run with the short cuts that a lot of BYB breeders take to breed. I would never support BYB or puppy mills and I hope we can save as many people as possible from doing it! I don't disagree that many have bought from these type of breeders before they knew better, but there is a difference in NOT knowing and knowing and supporting a BYB anyway!

| Wow. I would love to say that I'm shocked by what I've read on this thread, but sadly, nothing surprises me anymore. ![]() The problem here clearly goes far beyond two females fighting. Here is a dog, background unknown, with aggression issues, being used for breeding to pay bills. Not a shock that someone would do something so immoral, IMO, but I am a bit surprise that someone would openly admit it an then expect people to understand and be sympathetic. The "until you know you can't judge" line is absurd, desperate and makes me laugh. NO financial hardship justifies forcing dogs into a situation where they are fighting to the death and killing each other's puppies. They shouldn't be bred. Period. They should be re-homed. Stating that it's not an option because one depends on the money they bring in makes it CRYSTAL CLEAR that the best interest of the dogs is being completely pushed out the back door in exchange for financial comfort. |

| Since there are people who breed to better the breed, they should be very happy they are able to "sell" the puppies. Even the ones that aren't show dog material and the ones that don't fit the standard. To big, to little etc. Actually one of my dogs that people love the most is a tiny chihuahua that was the runt of the litter. She weighs 2 1/2 lbs grown and a "Hobby" breeder gave her to me free. She didn't try to gouge me for $1500.00 for a "teacup". She wanted her to have a good home with someone familiar with the breed and she told me to take her home and take care of her. I stand by the fact that some really nice dogs can come from a pet breeder and that there are many nice people that have done this. There are also a lot of losers but I have met "reputable breeders" that I don't like or trust either. I just can't pigeon hole every single person with a wave of my hand even if I am very judgemental.

Ive got exactly the same thing happening with 2 of my girls, when they are pregnant and when i come in or get visitors..it is so frightening i know and they just dont want to let go......i put the dominant female in her crate (and they too have the run of the house) when i get any visitors or if i am going out.... its the only way i found to stop them fighting. Since the docile bitch has been pregnant there was 1 fight, she has had 5 lovely pups and since then no fights. I just put the dominate female in her crate if i see her squaring up for a fight.Locking her away is the only way i can prevent this happening.... other times they get on really well...imsure its there hormones!good luck | |

I'm going to add that I have two biewers, and I have no prejudice against yorkies no matter their color - I just hope this other member will become aware of what type of hellish future she's setting her pups up for. As far as the op and her posts - I have tried to keep my mouth shut but I just can't do it anymore. There is NO, I repeat NO, excuse to breed an abused, rehomed frightened girl just so you can pay your property taxes!!! In fact, paying your bills in NO excuse to breed any pup at all. You have no idea what background these pups have, or what kind or problems and heartache you're passing on to innocent people. If you need the money so badly, get off your couch and get a job! McDonald's is always hiring.
