She acts like she is married to our male! The dogs have the run of the house, and we have no way to keep them seperate, unless we would cage them all the time. We really don't like that idea at all -- but we like the idea of a dead dog even worse. It seems like the fights are mainly right after one of us gets home, or if someone comes over. Pandora is definetly the 'alpha' dog, but Calypso is much bigger and stronger. Do all females do this? When our female pups get older will we have the same problem, or is this unique to these two?

Ive got exactly the same thing happening with 2 of my girls, when they are pregnant and when i come in or get visitors..it is so frightening i know and they just dont want to let go......i put the dominant female in her crate (and they too have the run of the house) when i get any visitors or if i am going out.... its the only way i found to stop them fighting. Since the docile bitch has been pregnant there was 1 fight, she has had 5 lovely pups and since then no fights. I just put the dominate female in her crate if i see her squaring up for a fight.Locking her away is the only way i can prevent this happening.... other times they get on really well...imsure its there hormones!good luck
