About the standard. I love standard yorkies and I do not believe colored should compete against them in shows. I would personally like to see a seperate standard for the parti and off colored dogs for showing. As far as the rest of the standards I am trying to achieve proper confirmation in my dogs and I will not breed a dog that has genetic flaws affecting it's health. What is comes down to is that I am trying to breed healthy pets for loving homes. So far I think I am succeeding because I have local vets reffering people to me and I even received the compliment that one of my puppies was the nicest Yorkie they had ever seen come from a breeder. I paid a lot for my dogs so I could have good quality and I charge for good quality and I gauranty it. Buying a better pup is cheeper for you in the long run as you have fewer expensive vet bills. If people do not want to pay my prices they do not have to. There are plenty of breeders out there selling whatever they can throw together for much cheeper without regard to health and defects.

For the record, I have heard many creative terms used for Yorkies that do not meet the standard regarding color, but I have to say that "Golden Parti" is a new one. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 09-16-2008 at 08:23 AM.

What do you think they should be called? They came about from breeding goldens that carried the parti gene to full partis which carry the golden gene. Their coloring is White with a Gold saddle instead of a black saddle. Do you think they should be called Gold and White yorkies instead? Have you seen any other Gold and White AKC yorkies?

Lol, no another one of the YT "breeders" are thinking about doing this. I guess for all of us who are so sick of seeing nothing but "standard" yorkies.

| I'm not sick of it. Sadly, seeing one that actually does meet the standard is pretty RARE itself. Seems like if you want to breed something "unique" then trying to meet the standard is the way to go. |

| These partis look like an old members (Socal for those that remember her) yorkie Chai. She never called her a golden parti just a parti. She was gold and white no black on her. It looks like your cashing in on them

The point is that the breed standard can and does change. There also seem to be a great number of people on here who are complaining the loudest who do not even have the proper colored yorkies for showing. The Standard says Blue and TAN , not blue and Gold, not black and gold, not black and tan. Yet all these nonstandard colors are right there on your AKC registration Aplication. There needs to be a seperate standard for the colors for showing purposes because I do not believe they should ever show against the standard colors. I also hope that the Black and Gold yorkies continue to be breed, they are some of the most beautiful yorkies. It would be nice if someone would form the Parti Colored Yorkshire Terrier Club of America but I have not seen it yet and am not sure how to get it Started. Does anybody else thing this is a good idea?

I've seen many parti colored yorkies that are gold and white. I have not seen any such as your dog with the large gold saddle however. The parti's...I've seen are predominantly white.
