AKC can't add a variation UNLESS YTCA presents it to AKC and even then as seen in the quote I got off the AKC website that breed club was "turned down". The YTCA at this point is NOT going to allow Parti's in the show ring period. Those can talk till they are blue in the face and I can talk till I'm blue in the face it's just NOT gonna happen "anytime" in the near future.
Wow!! Are you a physic, a fortune teller maybe? How in the world can you say it will never happen?! How do you know this?

Sorry I just have to comment on this. Do you own a cocker? Have you studied the breed? Shown it?
There is no evidence that supports the cocker got it's health problems simply because of color.

Secondly my family have been owned by cockers for many years, many generations. Not a single one was hard to potty train and all were healthy as can be. In fact I have yet to meet one that was hard to train.

The cocker I have now, Peppi, potty trained herself and is 12 years old today without any serious health problems.

I used to groom dogs. Every Cocker that came to be groomed, and not just by me, crapped on the grooming table. I wonder if that is genetic or were they trained to do that? LOL

What does that mean?

Your posts are often times cryptic, and sometimes beyond that.

There is no need to personally attack any one member here.

We all love the Yorkies we have been blessed with owning.

Have difference of opinion .. well and good but you at best seem to challenge others with a nasty response. Not necesary at all.

Weeeeeeelllll? Maybe they were just really smart?

LMBO. That's about the only thing these little ones never do. Yep, cockers definitely have that I I pee on you syndrome too. I'm sure you miss grooming them. That's why they brought them to you. LMBO

That is funny!! They sure aren't easy to groom. It's the only thing I really hate about the breed. Too much hair for their own good. I really admire those that show cockers. Keeping them in a full coat is no easy task. I use to keep Peppi in a full coat but now she is kept in a modified puppy cut, it is so much easier.
Have you ever stripped a coat before? I've heard how time consuming it is.

Oh jeez. I'm sorry. I misread that one. Really?

I got a cocker once when my kids were in elementary school and it smapped at them. Also had a hard time trainging it to go outside. I ended up taking it back to the breeder. I just tried everything to get from snapping. The pitty mistakes I could handle. Snapping at my kids, no! And the kids would sit on the sofa and we would let her come up to us and still and movement and snap she would go. I am not saying all cockers do this - but the one we had sure did.

Really, wow. Did the breeder not socialize her? I have heard of some cockers being snappy but usually they were from poor backgrounds.
I belong to a big cocker forum and it isn't heard of with many being snappy, just a select few. Many members have young children and their cockers do wonderful with them. They are generally great family dogs. I've learned a ton about the breed from the forum.

Peppi came from a byb but the breeder did well with socializing the pups. Peppi has never snapped at anyone. She loves children, even lets them pull on her long ears with no complaint.

That was your full post. So I did not quote part thereof. And I can reply as I see fit on any thread here.

Why change something with risk that it may add more health problems?

Do those cute little squirrels have as long of a life span as the original?

Until someone can answer these questions we are taking a risk changing the breed. It's not just about color but about long term effects.
Numerous health problems? Impossible to potty train? Are you serious? All because of a parti gene? Those problems couldn't have anything to do with all that inbreeding to set type...could it?

And last I checked...many yorkies already have these same issue's...and it had absolutely nothing to do with color.

funny..............cause my yorkie is the one that goes everywhere ...he never trained........and my biewer boy will go to the same spot every time........so pie bald gene has nothing to do with potty training for sure.

Oh come on. Just because you groomed a few cockers who did this you cannot make this a genetic thing. This is crazy. I showed/raised Cockers almost 20 years ago and never had those issues. Mine were all house trained and never had accidents on their hours sitting on a grooming table. Maybe the dogs sensed your hostility or dislike of them...
My last cocker went over the rainbow bridge 2 years ago and she was champion titled and lived to be 15 years old and never once pottyed in the house after the age of 12 weeks! How many yorkie owners can say that? How many exhibitors of yorkies can say that?
To make statements about a breed like that shows me quite a bit about you and to generalize it even more about the parti color of that breed and the health issues that the cocker is experiencing now is not factual information. Then to even try to link that to the parti colored yorkie talk about far fetched

OK that explains the training prolem with my partis. Now what about the others?

Surely you are not serious!!!
