Jim, Thank you for clarifying the wolf hybrid post. Even if we disagree I've always thought of you as a person with convictions and integrity and was shocked at that post.

Yep...true. Don't be confused. They were magnificent animals and I felt honored to have them with me. They helped to raise my kids and Toy raised Archie, my first Yorkie. I swear he's got instincts that go beyond that of a terrier and I credit Toy for that. Archie is my dog-son and, along with Heidi (my House Princess) is most special to me.

I apologize for the word clueless. I have nothing against them, I am simply saying they are not being breed to the Standard. I also can understand and am in afreement as to the why's the Cane Corso can't be shown in conformation. Why not just get a standard breed Yorkie to show, and have a Parti as a pet?

What are we disagreeing with? Oh, is it because you have a parti? That doesn't offend me....it's your business and I have no right to be offended by it and I have no problem with parti fanciers breeding parti-to-parti. It's kind of like we could all co-exist and 'east is east and west is west and never the twain shall meet'. I truly believe that bringing in standard Yorkshires to breed with them will taint the gene pool, however...and it's already tainted enough. I have to wonder why the need anyway, since the pedigrees of the partis go back to quality stock.

Jenn, even if we do 'disagree', I find nothing disagreeable about you. We can all have differing opinions and still be friends.

I thought Cane Corso's could be shown in conformation??

Working only, but as a non shower, not 100% sure. When Carlo was under 1 year, I took him to shows in the area and have 3 first places. They are shown in ARBA.

No, the parti's are not going away as they are in Canada and now in South Africa and are registered with The Kennel Union of Southern Africa.
I also know of some ladies checking into have frozen semen shipped in to the UK.
Its only a matter of time before they are world wide.

Canes have been allowed to show in AKC confirmation events since June of this year. I've only a few showing in NAKC this year.

Does the Canadian Kennel club register Parti's? Are they allowed to be shown in CKC?

Yes the Canadian Kennel Club does register them, I would have to ask C. if they allow them to show or not.

Cane Corso's can be shown in conformation classes. I see them at shows now alot

The maltese are no different from some of the other early dogs used in the breed like Swift's Old Crab, crossed scotch terrier, with coat 3-4" long, Kershaw's Kitty a drop eared skye who was solid blue without any tan, neither of these dogs had the coat or had the look of todays YT but by selective breeding over the years, the dogs evolved into what we see today.

If the maltese was used to breed to the early blue and tan YT type dogs to lengthen their offsprings coats, and that blue and tan dog did not carry the piebald gene, none of the pups would be white or parti colored. As for the reason to not use the Maltese because they have dropped ears, many early YT's had their ears cropped in order to get that prick eared look.

The Paisley and Clydsdale already had correct silk and blue color. If I were breeding for these qualities I wouldnt add Maltese.
