(Your knowledge of genes and the passing of a colour which has never been recognised in the last 100+ years to be a true colour for a Yorkie, would only lead a person to believe there has indeed been an introduction of a colour (white) in recent years into the modern Yorkie. However, the colours you discuss here were indeed in the ancestry of the Yorkie with the English Black & Tan, which has been written in breed books on this dog)(To constantly refer to a Maltese as being the hidden gene which has miraculously appeared after years and years of breeding true to breed conformation colours lacks foundation. What seems missing here is the fact that once a standard has been established, for 100+ years there comes along a nice little almost all white dog with a black saddle, looking like a Shid-Tzu with a Yorkie head, an all white, all brown, all black- does not meet conformation. What is the point therefore in having a breed standard for any dog if people are just going to assume "Hey lets make all the colours of the rainbow and call them a pure bred true Yorkshire, why don't we just stop registering our dogs with a registry and register with any Tom, Dick or Harry Club, like they have done in Germany with the Biewer and that way no one will be able to tell what we put in our dogs to get those colours")A little long winded, but debate is open. ![]()

| ![]() I cannot see why any responsible breeder would want to send frozen sperm over to the UK or any other country for that matter, to have it popped into a nice pure bred little traditional Yorkie, in the hope of getting a nice little white dog with a black saddle. a) Where will these poor little fellas end up? On the Dog Lovers registry, Pet Lovers registry, two un recognised registries, where puppy mill BYB's register there poor little ill bred dogs, who live their lives out in cages breeding litter after litter, who can't even walk after 6 years of continuous breeding. We have lots of unwanted little Yorkie sitting miserably in pounds, unwanted and unloved. b) In the hope of getting them registered with the UKKC, that will never happen. You need to show both Sire and Dam pedigrees, before pups can be registered in this Country. What are they going to say, Oh sorry the dog lives in the States, just the sperm lives here in the UK. Nop that won't work, perhaps they could lie and try to pass it on to another UK dogs pedigree and bingo we have Tri's, then bingo next litter we have Parti, nop we don't register parti's. Oh well perhaps we will say they are blue & tan, for a few years and then bang! Hay presto, there will be soo many white dogs with back saddles, they will be forced to recognise the parti colour. Well isn't that what happened in the states. We will just have to wait and see, but I might take a guess the UKKc would revoke a persons pedigree should that ever be found to be the case, as Fraud. We already have nice little white cross Yorkie in the UK, they are called Yorktese, Morkie, Yorkstie, Teady bears, etc etc etc, they sit in dog shelters too, waiting for a loving home. Havn't we got enough non standard dogs, unloved, uncared for, exploited as "Rare", only difference in the UK, a person can be sued for selling a dog as something it is not. Whatever, happened to responsible breeding! ![]()

No you can't. Frankly, they wouldn't look like the same breed. Maybe a white dobie is more your style sir? Chesty P wouldn't approve of a white bulldog either. Would he Steve?

Acceptable colors are black, lighter and darker shades of gray, lighter and darker shades of fawn, and red. Brindling is allowed on all of these colors. Solid fawn and red, including lighter and darker shades, have a black or gray mask. The mask does not go beyond the eyes. There may be a white patch on the chest, throat, chin, backs of the pasterns, and on the toes. Disqualification: Any color with tan pattern markings as seen in black-and-tan breeds.

He is neutered, that that disqualify the big guy? If so, he will get over it, and in his heart know he is a true corso and a winner regardless.

I am a little confused as to why you yourself on your bandwagon of pure breds, when you wanted and didn't you buy a mixed bred BTCA Biewer ? You say you have all those little mixes just sitting in the UK shelters that look just like them. So, WHY didn't you get one of those out of the shelter if you believe there is no difference ??? Are you not yourself exploiting a "Rare" dog if there is not many of them in the UK ?

You going to jeep beating this like a rented mule? It is not going to change. You, are not hoing to change the Torkie Breed Standard. Start breeding to standard, and keep a Parti for pet.

I am not "jeeping" anything, and certainly dont plan on "hoing" the "Torkie" Standard. Where in this thread have I even asked or said to change the standard? My parti yorkies are my pets and yes I am passionate about them when people come on Yt and put them down. AS i said feel free to start your own Cane corso thread. ![]()
