| Please help Emma find a forever home As many of you are aware, a breeder here misrepresented her Yorkie to me and is now refusing to stand up and take her back. So since the responsibility lies on my hands, I want to do what's right for Emma and find her a home where she can prosper, be the happy girl she wants to be and grow. This whole mess has, at best, been emotionally taxing. I have absolutely no idea what to ask for a rehoming fee. I know what I paid for her, but I'm also aware that I'll never get that back. SO.... I'm open to suggestions. No doubt, I'd like to recoup some of my losses. $1100 is too much to lose. Emma will be placed with a spay contract unless by some stroke of a miracle I can get her spayed before placement. I need a contract stating that she'd be spayed and surrendered to Yorkie rescue if the adopter cannot keep her. Since I'm not in dog rescue, I don't have any of this available. I also need to know how to go about enforcing such contract. Particularly involving the spay. Is it appropriate to withhold her CKC registration until proof is submitted? I'm also asking if someone would be willing to help me advertise her and write an ad. I will work on getting pictures of Emma today that are a true likeness of her appearance. I will NOT fly her, but if an appropriate home is located that isn't close to Salt Lake City, UT, I would be willing to put together a Yorkie train. Please help me help Emma. She deserves more than what she's gotten. Thanks Gina

| I am sorry it didn't work out for you Gina. However, I would most definately have her spayed before re-homing her to protect her from being bred. You never know who is lurking at ads and will use her over and over to made a $. That would be my first priority. If you go to the humane society or aspca they spay for a minimal fee. Or even your local pound does this, they do here in NY. My daughter had her pug done for $50.00at the humane society and I paid 325.00 for my Yorkie at my vet's. I don't think you will recoup your money. I would be more interested in getting her spayed and into a new forever home at minimal charge. good luck to you, |

| I hope Emma finds a good home. If I could I would buy her from you. I would have her spayed before you place her

| I agree on the spay part. She should have never been advertised as a Good Breeder. There are crazy, BAD ppl in the world (as you know) and my heart is breaking just knowing the life she could end up in if she isn't spayed |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I agree with Carol - please have her spayed before her placement. I don't think withholding her CKC registration would stop someone from breeding her. As far as recouping your original payment, could you not still pursue the Florida lemon laws on this? Since it's been proven that the greeder will not take her back, I wonder if you could still win your case and rehome Emma? If I do hear of anyone wanting a sweet yorkie girl, Emma will be the first one I recommend - of course with making sure the placement would be a good fit for both.

I explored Friends of Animals for low cost spay but they don't have participating vets in my area. Don't worry, if it's possible, it'll be done prior to placement.

| You could ask for a rehoming fee. $1100 would definitely be a little too much but you could ask for something. That would at least help cover some of the spay costs. I hope Emma finds a good home soon! At least this is moving in the right direction now

| I am so sorry to hear what happened Gina. Sounds like Emma has food guarding issue and needs someone with experience and some sort of training. I am sure with the right family that knows her issue, she will be the perfect dog. I just think that for Emma, it will be best to spay her first before leaving your home. Perhaps, the right thing to do for the breeder is to refund half of what you paid and use that money for spaying her before she leaves your home or someone will pay you for her and use that money to spay her before she leaves you. One way or the other, you will never recoup the lost. What goes around comes around maybe instead of worrying about recouping the losses/recovering half of it, why not focus on the right thing to do and that is to get her spayed before leaving you. I am sure one day in future, you will be paid back many times over for that good deed in other form. I hope you don't take offense, its just a suggestion.

| Guys, Listen.... I've lost $1100 for the purchase of Emma, $582 having to have my 3lb dog treated for injuries because of her aggressive behavior involving food and $45 in grooming charges at the suggestion of the breeder when she was trying to convince me it was the same dog. I seriously cannot spend any more money on Emma. I want to try to do the right thing, but I don't have any more money left and I STILL have to pay the balance of the vet bill for Teiya. I'm not at all wealthy. God I wish I were, but the sad reality is, if it's not there, it's not there and I can only do what's within the realm of my ability.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I don't know how others feel but have had another thought regarding having Emma spayed before her placement. With proof of her being spayed, I would be willing to donate $$ (if others will chip in) to cover the cost of the procedure. There would have to be confirmation of it being done and paid for first though.
