We need to try to answer some of the OP's questions! I don't have a contract yet, but will look around because I am definately going to use a contract when I sell my sweet puppies (if I ever part with any of them!). As for a rehoming fee -- I don't think realistically most people are going to pay over $500 and $400 is probably more the going rate for an older rehome that has "issues." But, I have to tell you, if it was me and the dog was a right fit for me and my family, I would pay more. So, Gina, if you absolutely need to get more of your money back, you could try for $600 and see what happens. These are just suggestions. I will be back when I find some contracts.

| ![]() Here is one you could modify. It even has a Mediation clause. Some items could be left out if they don't apply. http://www.kerryblues.info/FOUNDATIO...BillofSale.pdf Much simpler contract but maybe not enough: contract to adopt yorkie - yorkshire terrier adoption I am not really finding one that is perfect "as is." You will probably have to take one and modify it. I hope one of the breeders will offer a sample of their contracts. I did not like many of the ones I found on a google search. Some of the breeders sounded like they were washing their hands of any responsibility other than genetic diseases found within a few days. I don't like that kind of abdication of responsibility but a seller does have to have some protections as well as the buyer. Some contracts didn't offer any protection for the seller at all. There has to be a happy medium where both are offered some assurance of fairness.

Thor's Human Donating Member | ![]() Good luck with everything Teiya! It got pretty crazy there for a while, but it is very good of you to do so much work for Emma. I would be very upset if I was out ~$2K as well. That is a lot of money. It's good to see things moving forward. I hope that Emma will get a good home and you will get your money back. ![]()

| ![]() I think I read that you had also asked for help with an ad. How is this for an example to get the ball rolling? I am sure you can get more ideas too. Already house-trained! One year old CKC registered Yorkshire Terrier. Rich colors, sweet face! This little beauty needs a good home where she can be the center of attention. I hate to part with her, but she does not get along with other female dogs or small children, both of which I have. She is otherwise loving and well-behaved. Going to a home where she can be the "only child" is a must. I am willing to sacrifice much of my original investment to find the right family that Emma deserves. Spayed, vet checked and current on vaccinations. Rehoming fee: $600 (or whatever you decide) Maybe you could personalize it with something positive you have noted about her personality. The more I think about it the more I think you can advertise her in a positive light. For an older couple looking for an "only child," Emma might be just the ticket! She spruced up pretty nice and maybe with her ears shaved on the top half, they might start perking up. She does have some nice rich coloring. The appearance is not all important but that is what draws our attention in the first place. After that if they get to spend time with her and she has typical yorkie loving traits, she will sell herself. Good luck! Now I will leave you alone. ![]()

| ![]() Debra! I love you! That's a GREAT ad. I knew with all my emotions running rampant that I wasn't going to be able to write a good ad for Emma. Emma's postive aspects do need to be reflected. She does have quite a few and seriously speaking, would make a GREAT pet for an older couple. I'm using my position as Avian Rescue Director inappropriately and trying to get the humane society here to move her up the list to get her spayed. Wish me luck with that. The only thing I don't like is that they don't do any pre-op bloodwork but she does look healthy, so in her case, it might not be as critical to do it as it was for Teiya.

| ![]() Wow, we came a long way. All I have to say is - what an incredibly compassionate person Amandawash is for offering to spay and foster Emma. Also FlDebra is such a sweetie and thoughtful person to draft the wording for the ad. I hope everything works out for Emma and that she finds her forever home soon.

| ![]() I would do anything for this little girl including fostering.I have been sharing this story to my Mom who has a Chihuahua but no kids and my Dad.They have also fallen in love with her.Anyway if I could I would take her but it has been made clear that she can't be rehomed to someone with other dogs and children which I have.My Mom would take her but again she has one dog.Plus we live in Illinois with no way of traveling since I have kids who go to school.I also have my dogs to care for and going on a long trip just wouldn't be possible.I know the story of her and have lots of refernces on all the recues I have. All my pets minus Jasper were loss causes.I was given them because the Shelter manager was impressed with the know how on caring for there special needs. If I would to Foster Emma and not get to kep her I would pay for all Vet bills, getting her fixed and putting her in Adult Puppy class at Northgate where I have Jasper going to and my Tinkerbell will be going to this May.Saying that I also have some money I have been scraping up to help her.To rehome her or getting her fixed whatever the money needs to be used for that is what it is for.I put it back and it is waiting to be used for her plight.Keep me posted and good luck in finding her a home.If you want me to Foster we would have to get a train thing set up for her to come my way. |

| ![]() Sorry, but Emma will not be rehomed out of the area. Gina really wants to have her potential adopter meet and interact with Emma before an adoption.
