She is in transport still from la. I wasnt able to go this morning so another volunteer is picking her up along with another dog who I believe was at a different shelter. Im just waiting for her to call. She should be almost here.

If YTNR is willing to take her and it's only the $91 holding her up I'll donate $25 towards it if that will help. I wish I could donate the whole $91 but just can't right at this moment. Let me know. Maybe if we all kick in some of the $91 we can get her out ASAP. What do you guys think?

P.S. Can I just ask why the heck the shelter is giong to put this 15 yr. old girl through a spaying NOW? She is going to a rescue and will not be adopted out probably due to her age so why not just let her be and live her live in peace for whatever she's got left. Ridiculous. Elaine

My baby, LuLu, was at Baldwin Park animal shelter from Los Angeles County Animal Services.

She sat for 3 weeks, even with a 4" long beautiful blonde coat on her sides. She had 2 people place holds on her, and went to 2 adoption fairs to no avail, but for some reason, I was not allowed to put holds on her for some strange reason. Also, she was off the Internet after the first hold was put on her, so even though those people didn't follow through, no one else could even see her online to know about her. She was stuck in limbo.

I called every day until I could go pick her up.
Because I knew she was still there, and kept my eye on her.

The staff of Los Angeles Animal Services Baldwin Park are marvelous hard-working people. For $40 I got my dog with microchip, vaccines, vet office evaluation and spay/neuter service.

Yorkies come into the shelters in Los Angeles all the time.

A hot tip for people looking for Yorkies: the website only shows new pets - others are taken off the site once people express interest and put holds on them. So there are many more Yorkies at the shelters than shown on the Internet. Just because a dog is there one day and gone off the website the next, doesn't mean they aren't still stuck in the pound.

Go and see the dog in person, and call the shelter to ask about that dog to make sure if it is still there -- many times it is!
Go and get your pup! Save a good doggie.

Ok so I am now done having a breakdown. Any suggestions would be appreciated. She pees constantly when she walks, she is bleeding from her vulva? She is very confused and frantic. She is trying to rub her eye on anything. She has the cone in the picture but its short enough to rub on things still. I tried to kennel her and she panicked. I was worried because she was rubbing her eye inside the kennel and wouldnt calm down so I tried the bathroom.......panic. She is blind or cant see very well. On the positive side she is very sweet wants to be held and dosent dribble when you hold her its only when she moves around.

Well take a deep breath and calm down. The dribbling can be addressed with a female belly band. I'm sure in the morning someone can help were to get them. I know there are people on here that make and sell them but I know I've seen them at Petsmart and Petco. When I brought my Bogey home he peed EVERYWHERE even when he was walking and he is young. I am not sure about her eye but I do know when a surgery heals it itches. Maybe you can get a bigger cone so that she can't itch/scratch. I am sure Linda will be checking back in and she has a lot of experience with the seniors. It did look like she had cataract in her "good" eye so maybe she will be better when she gets a little more accustomed to her surroundings. Remember she is a 15 yr old dog who has been through god only know what. Once she settles in all she will really want to do is sleep.

I want to thank you again for bringing her to your home and getting her out of that horrid place. You are a wonderful and caring person to help this poor baby.
