I put your donation towards a stroller so that Ella can go on the long walks with the other dogs. Im hoping it comes today.

I need to take new pics of her.....I think she even looks better.
I cant wait until her hair comes in more and her face gets fluffy I think her eye will hardly even be noticable not that I dont think she is beautiful now but everytime I take her somewhere she gets sad little pity comments like "ohhh how sad, what happened to her eye, poor thing, what a shame" I would much rather people just look at her without pity. Dogs can sense that even though they dont understand what the words mean they get the feeling. I dont think pity and sadness is what Ella needs anymore. She wants to be told she is beautiful and just like the rest of us
Daisy may not be as famous as Ella, but she is always in my heart! I can't believe she hasn't been adopted yet! And Ella IS beautiful! Give both of them kisses for me!

Thanks you JCali!!!!

Daisy still hasnt had any applicants?????? I guess because she is bigger. I dont know. I love her and she is happy so thats all that matters.
Same thing happened with Sam he is a very sturdy teapot and no one ever applied for him so we adopted him. I feel after a certain amount of time it would be to hard on them to leave.

But Ella has had applicants.
One is a possibility, she is a family therapist and Ella would go to work with her daily to be a therapy dog. She has had several abused rescues, so she is experienced with the problems that may arise. I wasnt really prepared for Ella to be adopted, I had kinda figured she was ours but this lady seems perfect. We have talked on the phone a couple of times. She still has a couple other approvals to pass but I can say from what she has told me and her references all are perfect. I wont let Ella go unless I am convinced her adopter can give her a better life than I can.

Im happy and sad all at once I think Ella would be a perfect therapy dog and would also be so happy with a mommy that can take her to work and never leave her alone which I cant give her but I also feel very attached and protective of her.

I will keep all her YT mommies posted.

Welcome back Megansmomma!

I love the idea of a stroller for Ella- did it come in yet? She will just love that. Gosh, it is going to be so hard for you if she gets adopted. You have spent so much time, love and energy on her, it would be so hard for you to say goodbye.

I just tracked the stroller it will be here tomorrow. YAY! I cant wait.

Ella is getting her teeth cleaned and spayed on tomorrow....so she isnt going anywhere anytime soon.

Also the potential adopter has assured me it would be an open adoption. She wants me to stay in Ella's life to whatever degree I would like. Also she wants to some by and spend time at my house getting to know Ella gradually so it wont be a difficult transition for Ella. She lives about an hour away.

She had a blind rescue yorkie before Ella that just passed last oct at age 15 1/2 that was also a therapy dog. She used to carry her around in a baby sling. Everything she has told me about her baby sounds just like Ella. I asked her a million questions and what if scenerios and she had the perfect answer and solution to everything I threw at her. She is such a kind woman. Its probably good she is a therapist I may need one to get through this. hehe She is in her late 40's and has no children. Ella would get to be the spoiled rotten only child.

Anyway she has her home check scheduled for saturday and sunday she is coming by to meet Ella so Im just going to take it one day at a time and see where things go. It does help me to know if she does turn out to be Ella's new mommy that I will still always be in her life.

Does she KNOW that she HAS to join YT???? & she has to post regularly, no strange men staying in the house, no grain in her kibble...anything else ladies??? That should be a provision in Ella's adoption. AND her name has to stay Ella.
Are you concerned that she won't have 'other' kids to be with? She really seems bonded with your dogs. No offense, but I hope she bite her.

She sounds perfect for our Ella! I know it will be really hard to let her go, but it sounds like an ideal situation, especially considering that you can keep in contact with her .

Thats funny it makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.
It honestly hasnt set in yet. If I think about it to much I get so overwhelmed feeling. I feel like she is my baby. I have alot of mixed feelings. Im just going to wait and see how things go. I do think everything happens for a reason. Also I shouldnt say she will be an only child because she has 2 big rescue dogs, a bunny and a bird. But Ella will be the only one that gets to go to work daily and be a therapy dog. I meant to just say she dosent have skin kids. Although I think Ella would be fine in a home without any pets because she wants all the attention all the time.

I posted a cute picture of her in the pic section under "one drink to many"

The potential adoptive mother really does sound great and I love that you can stay in contact. I agree with the above posting that the new mother has to become a YT member... ha! I hope she does well tomorrow... I'll be thinking of her and looking for an update.

How bittersweet that Ella might be moving on to a new home As we both know that is what a good foster momma does. You are a very special person to have opened your home to Ella. You allowed her to have the very first love and affection that she was ever given in her life. All of the pieces have fit so wonderfully together to make this beautiful story and allowing little Ella's journey to touch so many.

When LadyJane posted that very first picture of that terrified and sick little girl at animal control, who would have thought the journey that would be taken Ella is the glue that has allowed friendships to be born and late night "get you through" it sessions. So many of us took Ella into our hearts as well and it is such a wonderful heartwarming feeling in these tough times many of us are going through.

All of the love and support that was given to Ella has been very special and helped me to have a change of heart during a rough time.

So if Ella has found a wonderful new home we all know she has left her tiny on all of our hearts. This is the reason I continue to come back to YT! Thank you lcornel for being such a wonderful foster mom to Ella and helping her become the butterfly she has turned into.

llcornell, luvfla has made very good points. I know I don't post much as I think I don't have much to add, but in this case I felt I must chime in. Her new mommy MUST join YT!! I like reading all the happy post about Ella and how well she's adjusting to being a pretty little princess!!! So how awesome would it be to continue to see how well Ella continues to be in her new life?
