Oh my I shuddered when I read your first paragraph. I think I might have strangled her, then brought the bitch in for a C section. Who the hell doesn't know to remove the puppy, break the sac, clear the airway. I would have called Animal Control on her! Serve her right!.

That is what she said. Is it honestly that hard to imagine? How many people here spend tons of money before the holidays and don't have much left for anything else? I know I am one of those people. However, just a few days after Christmas, I have money again because I received my paycheck.

It was something I will never forget. Honestly AC would not have done anything and they are not available at night anyway. I looked at the gals who work there and they kind of gave me a look to stay out of it. I know all of them..so I could only hope they would handle it.

Kalina I see what you are saying and I know Christmas is an expensive time but breeders have to take that into account when they breed and make sure they have money for vet visits. Would you not take your child to the doctor if they needed it because its december and you spent too much on christmas

I will say it is kind of hard for me to imagine. If my son got appendicitis during December, I would have the money to take him to the hospital ~ yes.

IF Lucy had an emergency in December, I would not have to wait until the following month to have her seen.

If you don't have the money in December to have your pup seen - then you don't have it. A factor that should certainly be considered when you are breeding and vet bills could be costly.

And a factor that many people just do not think about.

yes, that is true, that is why I am staying home with my Chanel instead of going to Hawaii on a much deserve vacation and anniversary celebration..many next year...I hope the OP comes back because is a list of necessities she needs to make sure this girl if she is pregnant goes thru well.

I'm glad you see what I'm saying, that's all I wanted, just to show there may be a somewhat reasonable explanation for not having money in december but then having it in January.

I definitely agree with you that her timing is wrong. Since she has a budget she must be aware of her cash flow and therefore should have realized that breeding in December is not the ideal time for her because of the lack of cash.

If my child (my yorkie in this instance since I don't have kids) was sick or had an emergency during a time where I was short on cash I would still take her to the doctor, and hopefully the OP would too if it were needed regardless of the budget. An emergency and a pregnancy check visit are two different things. The pregnancy check can wait a few days until the next paycheck arrives, an emergency cannot, that's why I carry plastic

Maybe the OP could approach her relatives who want the puppies for money up front for the dog's medical care. If they understand the need for the basics, maybe they would be willing to pitch in. I know I would if I were in that situation.

I have my one credit card that's a low, low interest rate with a (well it did have a zero balance until Gizmo pulled is tummy antics) that I used for any vet bill I can't pay or even that I can pay for right away. It's safe of mind for you as the pet owner.
