| I used minksheen for baths today, so you can't really smell the coconut. I have some Espree coconut shampoo and I will use it the next time. I bet they would smell good enough to eat with that Bogie is pure cotton coated and he is even shining

| I have been putting a litte bit of the Nutiva Coconut Oil on a cotton ball and wiping out Riley's ears every couple of days. He Loves it...... [He got bad ear infections from an allergic reaction to something environmental. Had an even Worse Reaction to Tresaderm drops the vet gave me.... his ears turned RED and had little white pusstiles (sp?) in them. Then was on Clavamox for 14-days. He had a recheck last Wednesday and is doing much better. The vet gave me VIRBAC Corium-20 and said for me to use it once a week to clean his ears out with.] I've been wiping his ears out every couple days with the Coconut Oil and am going to use it as a rinse after his bath, tomorrow. |

| For anyone who uses CO on themselves, I have this small scaly patch on my leg I don't know from what. I've used alpha/beta hydroxy lotions on it and it is still there. you think CO will help it soften up? Do I just rub it on like lotion? I hope I don't end up eating this stuff by the spoonful out of the jar.

| I would just put it on the spot like lotion. I bet it gets rid of it fast. I had one of those patches on my chest a couple of years ago. It was like a really dry place and it would itch like crazy. It took care of it pretty quickly and you will be eating it Every morning when I put it on the kiddos breakfast, I lick the spoon.

I have psoriasis. I pretty much bathe in coconut oil (and Sugar tries to lick me clean ) It really will soften up the patch and you will smell very tropical as well

| One of my pups had a bad flaking skin problem on her left hip... I did have the vet look at her ... as it wasn't red or irritated she said just to keep an eye on it. I tried a few different shampoos but nothing helped. Then I added CO to her food twice a day, and noticed the amount of flakes gradually decreased and disappeared after 2 months. I did apply it topically a few times too. About 3 months ago, on a Friday night , I bit down wrong on some food and actually loosened a tooth! Boy did that hurt! No Ambesol in the house, so I put Coconut oil all around it. It didn't take all the pain away, but it did make it bearable. I applyed it 3 times a day (as needed) to get me through the weekend till I could get to the dentist on Monday. By then, it had improved so much I keep putting off going and it had tightened up, so I never did go, and it's fine now. I put some Coconut oil in a small bottle and keep it in the bathroom now. When I brush my teeth, I put a few drops on my toothbrush, on top of the toothpaste and brush with it. Really makes my teeth feel clean. When I was working with horses, I developed a quarter sized patch of itchy skin on my waist. I had that for almost 5 years! and had been to doctors on and off and had tried all the prescription creams for fungus and nothing worked. Most burned really bad. At the time I didn't know about Coconut oil, but Tea Tree oil was becoming real popular, so I tried it on the spot. It cleared it up in about 3 weeks. The spot came back after a month, so I used the Tea Tree oil again for 2 weeks, 3-4 times a day, and it finally went away. (Tea Tree oil is toxic to dogs. It is found in some dog shampoos, less than 5% solution is thought to be okay for them. The Tea Tree oil I used on myself was undiluted and full strength... for a spot here and there, fine, but IMHO I wouldn't use it all over my body at one time) Coconut oil is a natural bug repellant too, so I put it on any exposed areas before going outside. I also put some in my hands and rub it in a bit, then topcoat the dogs before walks. Mosquitoes are pretty bad here, so I figure anything I can do to keep them at bay is worth a try. Oooooh! And I bought some of the Coconut Peanut Butter from Tropical Traditions.... YUM! And I love their Lip Moisturizers. And the Coconut soaps and face creams. (I try something new everytime I order CO!)

I didn't see the lip moisturizers. I will have to try that next time! I use Burt's Bees but I'm not too crazy about it. I love coconut! To quote Dexter: "Coconut! Coconut! oh my god oh my god oh my god!!" lol
