| I have found putting it on topically on where Uni scratches has helped a lot. The redness went away, and it's soothing so I guess the urge to scratch goes away.

| Thank you all for sharing the info on coconut oil and the various links of where to buy it. I spoke to my vet today and he said he loves coconut oil for people, dogs and cats. I have a 5 lb. Yorkie and he said to start with a 1/4 tsp for about 5 days to get her system used to it and then add a bit more for the next week getting up to 1/2 tsp for Bella to get the full benefits of coconut oil. He also said that cinnamon is fantastic as well and should be given as a light sprinkle on top of food. Thanks again! |

| Coconut oil melts very easily. By the time you put it in your hand, it will already have melted just from your body heat. When I use it, I just rub it between my palms and apply it to wherever it is needed. I'd be careful about putting it on the coat...a small amount goes a loooong way and the coat can get greasy/stringy looking quickly. Coconut oil is good stuff! |
