| HELP - What can I hide Teddy's pills in? Teddy needs his epilepsy medicine every 12 hours for the rest of his life and he is only 2. At first, he ate the capsule out of my hand, and although it took him a while, he finally has me figured out. Lately, he's been crafty with the pill. Just when I think he has swallowed it, I notice a white capsule stuck in his beard or in the corner of his lip or he plainly spits it out. I've tried peanut butter, cottage cheese, fruits, potatoes, and hiding it in his food. He eats around it. I've heard someone swear by strudel and someone else by cream cheese of the brick variety. I'm looking for other ideas on how to hide the pill. What works EVERY TIME?

| Have you tried pill pockets? Since the pill is literally in the center of a "treat" they usually cannot pick it out. |

| I wrap the pill in cheese, give it to Jackson, and gently hold his mouth closed until he swallows. He also used to try the spitting it out thing so I solved the problem by holding his mouth, LOL.

| Pill pockets are the only thing that seems to work for me. She finds it in everything else.

| What a smart little guy you have there My last yorkie used to spit out the pills too...we tried everything. Finally, I asked my vet to show me how she does it....I used to put the pill on the tip of my finger, open his mouth and then put my finger with the pill along the side of his gum till I got to the end of his teeth and pushed it in....sounds brutal, but it was actually easier than it sounds...and it didn't make him gag or anything. It was the only way he would take his meds.

| GREENIES® Pill Pockets® treats for dogs Here's the link so you can see what the pill pockets look like. Petco and many other pet stores sell them I'm pretty sure there are other brands that make something similar too if you don't like Greenies brand.

| My boys don't like their Sentinel, so I have to hide it. I've tried cheese and peanut butter, and those never worked for us, they always spit them out. I tried the Gerber chicken baby food (no onion or garlic), and that workes for my 2. I just give them each a spoon of the baby food with the pill in the front/middle, and they always lick it right up |

| Smart little stinkers, aren't they. When all else fails, you can be the mean mommy and just force it down. I had to do this when I had to give the girls pain meds after spay. Now, when I give their Comfortis, I rattle the cookie bag and slip it in in all the excitement. (but they are very small) |

| I used to crush up the pills and mix a little honey in with them. I don't know if you can crush your meds or open the capsule. |

| Chloe is the same way, she figured out how to spit her pill out and she would pick it out of all the things that normally work, cheese, cream cheese, PB, yogurt, etc. She also needs her meds for the rest of her life. I have taken to just putting it down her throat plain and holding her mouth until she swallows- like you would pill a cat. It really is not pleasant but the only thing that works every time and she HAS to have her meds. Have you looked into a compounding pharmacy to see if they could make it into a liquid? My vet recommended Wedgewood- but they don't deal with the chemical Chloe needs.
