Update:
 

Tena asked me to update everyone on how Pat is doing since his surgery. The day after his surgery the nurse said his vital signs were good and he was doing well. They told her he got moved to "step down" at the hospital. His trach is back to being capped off and it should come out soon. When the step down nurse called, they put Pat on the phone and they talked.

She is leaving early in the morning to visit him. INOVA called the case worker today and they do want Pat in their program, so she is going to tour the facility on Friday.

She wanted me to thank everyone for your continued prayers for Pat. It means so very much to her.

Pat is doing very well, he was moved to INOVA for intense rehab. I'm praying he will do well and be able to come home soon and receive in home or out patient soon. Hoping over time his long term and short term memory improves.

I'm back YT friends. So sorry I have been gone so long, plus I just got back into YT after doing an I0S 7 update, I couldn't get anything to work not even my YT password, errr.

Pat is still at INOVA in rehab and doing fairly well. It's a long slow process for him. He is able to get up now with assistance, learning to walk short distances with the walker. He is eating soft diet and gaining strength each day. He is such a stick and was so very weak, but slowly coming back physically. He still has no long term or short term memories. The one good thing is with no memory, he doesn't know what he has lost, so he is a happy guy and quite content. So we can only pray in the next months some things will return. He should be at INOVA for about 3 more weeks, then we will need to decide what is in his best interest and where he goes for continued rehab. I'll try harder to get on and update more often. Seems to be just not enough time in a day. It will be wonderful to have him closer so I can go visit after work each day. Two places I have checked into will allow me to bring Zhoie to visit him. I know it would be great for her to see her daddy and I believe it will work wonders for Pat to see her too. This 3 hour one way drive, plus the traffic right outside Of DC is a killer for me, this city life is not for a country gal like me, lol.

Oh gosh, don't apologize to us! It is good to see you but your priorities are at home. I just hate that you and Pat have been through so much.
Yikes...a three hour drive...that is really brutal. Hope he is closer to you very soon.

It will be very nice when Pat can continue rehab in a facility close to your home where you and Zhoie can visit daily.
