I'm here and thank you all for the continued prayers, my Pat needs them so desperately. He is was transferred to an L-Tech, which is when they don't need critical care but needs speciality care like for his trach collar and meds and to be followed by doctors care. We are into into week four, he's still waxing & waning, simply means he's wakes briefly and back to sleep. I'm praying he will eventually be transferred tom UVA traumatic brain injury rehab, but that could be many months off yet. It's in God's hands, God's time, he's still holding Pat in his healing hands. So sorry, I haven't been on much lately, so very busy but being back to work helps distract me from thoughts of Pat every moment and get me through the day until I can travel to be with Pat again. When not working, I try to sleep for short spans, as sleep doesn't come easily. Thank you my friends and to my wonderful Lila for keeping you all updated. |
You and Pat will continue to stay in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs. |
My prayers continue for Pat and you. Hugs to you all. |
Continued prayers! |
I continue to keep Pat in my prayers and thoughts. Praying he improves each day. |
Tena I have had Pat in my prayers since day one..I don't get on YT that much lately but I wanted to let you know I am still praying for you both. |
Tena, you and Pat remain in my thoughts and prayers. |
The seriously injured brain can be a slow healer and sure takes time to come around. Prayers are still being offered up several times a day for Pat and for you. I think of you alot and worry how you are making it. You must be so scared. I'm praying for your peace and hope, security in the future. All you can really do is just concentrate on getting through today and seeing Pat as often as you can, to keep him grounded to his old life and working to get back to it. Still, try to steal some time for yourself once in a while to just go to a movie or window shop in the mall to try to de-stress and away from constant worry. Keep posting as you can. |
Tena, you and Pat remain in my prayers. Praying for him to grow stronger and recuperate, and for you to be able to rest and maintain your strength. |
Tena I'm still saying prayers for your hubby Pat and you as well. |
Still praying for you both... |
dog Healing prayers for Pat and comfort for you Tena. This is a day by day situation. The Lord promises He will not give us more than we can handle and there are days I know you wonder how much you can take. Just turn all the problems over to Jesus and know He is looking out for you and Pat. We cannot ask why, we just ask for grace to accept what trials come our way. My husband is the only survivor of esophogeal cancer in San Diego. God is not done with him yet. Pat is in His hands. He is surrounded by angels ministering to him as we send healing prayers. Believe, trust and turn it all over to Him. Do not let the devil get you down with doubt. You are precious in His sight as Pat is too. I pray for us to see miracles happen with Pat. It will take faith and time. Love to you! |
Checking in on Pat and you and still praying for both of you. |
Tena, Pat and you are in my prayers daily. As Jeanie mentioned, it's a slow road with brain injuries but any little progress is progress and is good. Hang in there! I can't even imagine how exhausted you are. |
Tena, I continue to have Pat in my prayers for a complete healing. |
Thinking of you Tena & Pat. Sending continued prayers of healing & strength. |
Still praying for Pat and Tena. |
Continuing prayers for Pat and Tena... |
I'm so sorry I haven't been on lately! It's been a whirlwind of crazy. The facility is not the degree of care Pat needs with his traumatic head I jury and not front bone flap. It's more nursing home level that can handle a trach collar. To make the story short the Restore Rehabilitation case worker and myself have been working diligently to get him accepted to UVA Transitional Care Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. He has been accepted and now we are waiting on a room. Please pray for the room availability to come this week my prayer warrior friends, it's needed so desperately. He is getting no stimulation daily where he is at. Pat & I thank you all so very much, prayers are being heard. |
Oh, I do hope he gets transferred quickly! Definitely praying for both of you!! |
So glad he's been accepted to UVA-TCH... praying a room comes available very soon. |
I'm praying specifically that Pat will progress to the point that he can be moved and that a room will open very soon. You both are in my prayers all throughout each day. Stay strong. God has it covered. |

Prayers for Pat and a quick transition... |
Tena, I am praying for a bed to open up and for Pat to transfer to Charlottesville quickly. Praying for your continued strength and for Pat's recuperation. |
Tena, I am praying along with all the others here that Pat will be transferred to that facility where he so needs to be to get the care he deserves. |
Praying a room becomes available. |
Update! Well, folks, God is good and faithful! Tena met with the caseworker at UVA so they could tour the facility and to see if they had a bed available for Pat. Long story short..........THEY DO!! It will be available on Thursday!!!! Tena was told by Pat's nurse that he had to be medically stable for transport and to call back later today. Well, guess what! She called Pat's nurse today and she got some more great news!!! The nurse said Pat had a fabulous day!! They have had his trach capped all day and he spoke to the nurse, although it was only a few words. He told her he had no pain!!! His BP is normal, but his heart rate is still low. Pat has always been a very active man so they are saying that this is normal and that he is very stable!!!!!!!! Oh, and his oxygen level is 100%, which is 99% better than most of us! Tena was asking for a sign and I think she got it this afternoon. However, please keep praying and sending good thoughts that they will sign the papers and release him to go to the new facility. |
