Great news! Continued prayers! |
Tena, I am very happy to read your wonderful update! Such great news. Praying for more to come with each day. |
What a wonderful update, and proof once again that prayers do work. We are all continuing prayers for a full recovery. |
Great news and bet his "Hey Babe" was some of the sweetest words you have ever heard! |
Thanks for the wonderful update! I am sooo happy that your hubby remembered your name and that you were his wife!!!!!! It's amazing what we normally take for granted, and only know that when we have 'bumps' in the road we travel called life. I hope that hubby will continue to improve and asap will home with you. Positive thoughts coming your way from BC, Canada. |
OMG! Just catching up... so happy to read this last update! Praying like a maniac for you both! |

pat was released by neuro doc to go back to acute rehab like 4 days ago and was moved down to the 6th floor while waiting on a bed to open up at rehab. It was fine when the hospital PT was getting him up to the chair daily, but they don't work on the weekends, so yesterday pat was trying like crazy to get out of his bed. PT isn't comfortable with letting the nurses get him up because of his weak right side. It took three of us to try to keep him in the bed. He even figured out how to get to the latch to drop down the bed rails. We have to have a rehab to transfer him to tomorrow, I'm so worried for his safety and him getting out of the bed, he would fall. His sees to safety limits at all, doesn't see the danger to himself whatsoever. I'm praying we have a bed tomorrow or can find another acute rehab to send him too. |
Tena, I would get a private duty aide to sit with him...he does not need a nurse...but someone who could keep an eye on him. I have seen so many injuries in hospitals...scary. I do hope he gets transferred soon. |

Get the doc to order it and insurance will pay for it. This is a safety issue...they need to provide a safe environment, and that would be a sitter!!! |
Ok, I will call the hospital now. |
Called the hospital and she was going to get the nurse to call me regarding the doctor. |

The distance is the problem. I don't mind paying for it, I just don't know how to make them get a sitter in there to do it |
If the doctor won't order it, the Patient Relations department or social worker for the facility should be able to tell you how to find one to hire privately. |
Yes, I am on that but that aren't available until in the morning. Weekends has been a problem. I have a call into the charge nurse now. Thank you all for your help. Praying he gets to rehab tomorrow. The WC case worker and I will both be on it first thing in the morning. |
Just the fact that you are calling them will hopefully make them more attentive. I know how busy hospitals get....they try to keep patient's secure but it is very hard with a determined patient. Is he close to the front desk? If not, they need to move him...and THAT they can do!!! Insist on it with the charge nurse. |
The beds in the hospital where Amanda was had sensor alarms if the patient moved, and locks on the rails too. (digital) I wonder too if a volunteer would be available? |
Tena, I am praying the doctor will approve someone to stay with Pat. He surely doesn't need an additional injury which should be preventable. Continued prayers for him to improve. |
Tena, I am praying a bed opened up for Pat and that he will have the supervision he needs to keep him safe. Continuing to pray for your strength and for positive updates. |
Checking in... hope the problem is solved... Praying for you both... |
We got transferred to Health South the first part of the week. Pat is participating in the hour each of PT, OT & Speech, but he sleeping and trying to get up hasn't improved. He gets confused and then doesn't know what he wants. I talk with him on the phone and sometimes it helps them out. Need continued prayers that pat will start to be less confused and can understand what has happened and he needs this therapy. |
Sending prayers |
Tena, you and Pat are continually in my prayers. I haven't posted very many times in this thread, but believe me you ARE definitely in my thoughts and prayers. |
