Pat needs prayers! Tena informed me this morning that Pat had a seizure and another brain bleed. She said it was not good. He is being transferred to Fairfax this morning. Please continue to pray for Pat. He so desperately needs our prayers this morning. Tena has had such a difficult time trying to come to terms with Pat's condition. She is also in need of prayer. He was doing very well at the rehab until this week. He became very weak and could not do therapy. He also lost the memory he had regained. They had planned on transferring him to a sub-acute facility where Tena could see him everyday. And, now, another brain bleed. :( |

Morning everyone and thank you my friend for updating. We are at INOVA Fairfax in falls Church, VA. Pat was life lifted yesterday, número use tests were done rapidly and he had surgery late yesterday. For all the things that could have been, we have been blessed once again. Fluid accumulated in the open space been the frontal bone and the brain which had not absorbed and as the brain was rising, it was causing pressure and small bloody area. Surgeon went in a small area of the incision and found found no infection that he could see, drained the fluid and put in a small drain tube for a couple of days in attempt to keep it from returning. Pat was only in surgery a little over an hour. At this point it looks very positive and they tell me, this is not uncommon. We have faith, will keep praying and by God's grace will be able to move forward and some rehab. We love you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. |
Prayers for you both this morning... |

Tena, praying for Pat to make great progress in recovering from this and in rehab. You remain in my daily thoughts and prayers for your strength and comfort. |
Hopefully it's just a minor step back before a few leaps forward. :) Keeping both of you in my thoughts. |
Continued prayers. This must be so difficult for you but Pat is so strong and doing so well. |
I came home for the day Friday morning hours and went back yesterday. When I walked in Pat said his usual "hey babe" and he knew me!!! YES, he knew I was his wife and my name and everything!! The nurse told me he said he was married, his wife's name was Tena and we had been married for 17 years, ok, so he missed the amount of years by double, but that's ok, we'll take it, lol. They removed his drain tube yesterday morning, he will be moved out of ICU as soon as a bed is open. PA was having speech in for swallow test to get him back on foods and PT to get him back up and moving. He'll be sent back to rehab shortly. He was remembering several things and my heart simply melted, I bawled like a baby. Pat said, it's ok, don't cry...bless his heart. Honestly, this is the best he has been since his accident. Thank you all my friends for the continued prayers and your strong support. I'll post back when I can. Love you all!! |
Love this update!! :) Continued prayers Tena, for you and Pat. |
such great news |
Happy tears and prayers of THANKSGIVING for Pat's improvement. I cannot imagine the joy you must have felt when you walked into his room. Praying that Pat is finally on the road to recovery without any other detours and for continued strength for you. |
Tena, your post really moved me. Pat's words were such a treasured gift, and I can imagine the joy and hope you felt hearing them. I pray that pat continues to improve greatly, and I can't wait for the day that he will come home to you and Zhoie. |
