Update! I talked with Tena late this afternoon. She gave us some good news! Pat is making exceptional strides. His doctor is absolutely amazed at how well he is doing and said he would be going in the books! The doctor said he is ready to be moved to a special facility for rehab this coming Friday. I will let Tena give you the details of Pat's amazing recovery. The Lord has heard our prayers. Let's keep praying for a full recovery. |

Thank you Lila for sharing the great news! I clerked in a neurosurgery unit when I was in school, and I am deeply impressed and happy that Pat is going to the rehab facility so soon. Keep getting better Pat! |
Im here and I'm so excited after seeing Pat after work yesterday. I walked in and he was sleeping, but I saw that he was on a trach collar and the ventilator was off, he was breathing on his own, which they try for awhile everyday. When the nurse came in, she said he did so well with the pressure test they do every morning at 5:00 AM, they decided to go ahead and put him on the trach collar. Pat was still breathing on his own at 9:00 PM. When I heard this all I could do was drop and thank God for his blessing and holding Pat in his healing hands. I was amazed at how the swelling in his head is almost gone, however he will go to the speciality rehab hospital without the bone flap put back for now. Neuro surgeon said he won't put the bone back in until all the bruising is gone. OK...now for the wonderful news that made me bawl like a baby! They had a cap on the trach because it wasn't being used, Pat spoke "hi" and "love you" to me!!!! I needed to hear Pat's voice more than anything and it was the most wonderful gift I will ever receive, Praise God. |
Such fabulous progress. Answered prayers! |
What wonderful news!!!!!! I am so happy for you. Continuing to pray for you both. |

Oh Tena, your latest news brought tears to my eyes! God is Good! My co-worker's hubby was in a car accident (his car got hit by a big truck) & he was in coma for 3 months. He injured his head & was told that he might have serious brain damage. My co-worker, friends & family prayed everyday! Once he finally woke, his speech was slurred & his mobile skills needed to be worked on, but after a few months of physical therapy, he was 90% back to normal. Now, you can't tell that he has ever had a brain injury. He still walks w/a little limp, but what he went through was miraculous! |
