| Thanks so much for understanding. I am crying so hard right now. I am mad. I am pissed. Dixie never got out of my arms. Never. We never had a problem with her getting loose from us. I was upset, and tried to be understanding, but I will be honest, I am so so mad. But I also do understand accidents can happen, but I am still floored that she mentioned selling me another pup. (for half off) She was my baby! And she is gone. And won't come back. I can't deal with that. Why did this happen? |

I am very sorry that you have lost your baby this way. It is tragic and heartbreaking. I know that your heart will be left with a great big hole in it. What a sad way to end a vacation.

| first of all let me say, even though we all say we are TRUELY sorry for your loss. Only a percentage of us know what it's like to lose one of our beloved pets. I know you are suffering and need to grieve in order to get through this. But when the timing is right and if you do decide to get another furbaby, she owes it to you to just give you one. If I was in her place I would feel horrible and want to make up for it any way I could. Either money or pup. I can't believe it happened first of all, but my baby almost got hit by a car tonight as well. So I don't have alot of room to talk, but I do think you need to have a serious talk with your sitter (breeder) when you have had time. But we wish you the best and hope you will feel better soon. If you need to talk you know we are all here to listen. We are one big happy family afterall....

| I am so sorry for your loss too. My heart aches for you, I've not lost a young dog before, but I've lost several along the way. I know it hurts. It takes awhile to be able to not ache, for me at least. I agree with what some others said. I think the breeder felt somewhat responsible and said the first thing she could think of to make you feel better and as a breeder, that was all she could think of, or the first thing. I think she should have waited to bring that up and WHEN she did, it should be FREE, not as a replacement for Dixie, but as a big I"M SORRY. Shoot, she should have just offered a refund right then and there if she doesn't have any CLASS at all!!! I'm sorry she said such a thing to you. I truly am!!! I'm praying for comfort for you tonight. |

| She was precious, and I'm so so sorry that this happened. I'm sorry if this question brings more pain but....were you allowed to see her, or to have her body, in order to say goodbye, and have closure? Again, my most sincere sympathy. These dogs are our BABIES, and it's so hard to think about something so awful happening to them. Quote:
Maybe it's easy to say, when I'm NOT a breeder....but if I WAS....I def. think that I would have offered to replace her out of my first litter, and given you first pick. I mean, this was a service you were paying for, that she supposedly specializes in...if you were "that kind" of person, she could be looking at a lawsuit. Maybe that's what she was afraid of, and was trying to head it off by talking (immediately!) about giving you a "bargain" on another pup. Ugh. It's not fair that these helpless and frustrated feelings of anger have to interfere with your grieving process. HUGS from us all, as we all remember your baby angel, may she romp in peace.

| She did offer for me to come and see her. But I couldn't. Is that bad? I couldn't see her like that. I want to remember her wiggling, barking, loving, licking, cuddling. I can't remember her like this, it would hurt too bad. I called the cremation service to come pick her up. My breeder did offer to pay, but then quickly said "How much is it going to be, $100?" I don't care if she pays for it or not, the dog deserves a proper cremation. I want to wake up and realize that this was an awful nightmare. But it isn't. I want to curl up and sleep this off, but the pain will never go away. |

| I'm so sorry for your loss I think the breeder was just trying to think of how she can help you, but others are right: she should offer you a dog for free. But I still think it was too soon of her to suggest getting a new dog right away. She should've waited awhile. |

I confess, I was just being a suspicious old cynic, wondering if that actually WAS what happened to your dog. I'm sorry if that makes you feel insulted on behalf of your breeder...obviously I don't know the woman. But there are just so many crooked people out there. Again, I'm so sorry this happened to your baby.
