I cannot follow your reasoning that as breeders, we should spend thousands and thousands of dollars on our own breeding stock, in order to produce puppies that come from the best blood lines available, trying to reproduce puppies that are above all, healthy and conform to the breed standard, ......provide the VERY BEST IN VET CARE, EVEN IF IT MEANS DRIVING AS MUCH AS 500 MILES IF NECESSARY, feeding the best in dog food, working 24/7 socializing and nurturing and loving and caring for babies we produce, sending them to new homes fully vaccinated, de wormed, microchipped, crate trained, pee pad trained......and you honestly think WE need to just give these babies away to people that do not have the wherewithal to either get to necessary medical care, or do not have the financial means to provide the medical care that is required to save that pups life????? Responsible, ethical, respected breeders have MORE money and labor invested in each of our babies, than we charge.....people that actually understand what all goes into breeding, know full well responsible breeders DO NOT GET RICH from doing what we do....but to think there are actually people out there that think we should produce these wonderful, healthy, beautiful babies, so we can just give them to people that can not afford them.....that is absolutely ludicrous! What about expecting people to SAVE money in order to buy a healthy puppy, that HOPEFULLY will survive a week or two after the person gets home with their new pup! What about new owners putting in the effort to provide insurance or being able to provide medical care, even getting in a car and driving to that care, if it becomes necessary! (There are people that load up their babies and drive across this country to the best vet care at vet colleges or specialists because they have a pup that needs the care!) Get real! My expenses for my breeding business, exceeds my sales on my puppies by $30,000.00+!!! I do not even break even! But I will not give away my dogs to people that can not afford to provide the best care for them! I sincerely believe I am doing more than my fair share....new owners like yourself, have to assume some responsibility and accountability in this deal, instead of thinking for even one minute that breeders are obligated to provide puppies to people that can not provide for them!!!!! If YOU choose to buy from puppy mills and from questionable sources, because they are cheap, and they dump these sick pups before they have to even de worm or vaccinate, remember, you get what you pay for. That is YOUR choice and you will pay for it, sooner or later. It costs well over $1200.00 to get a puppy from 0 - 14 weeks old....and that is if there were no problems with the whelping or the puppy. As responsible breeders, we are meeting OUR responsibilities for our dogs/puppies/breeding programs......new owners must meet theirs!

I can totally relate. Rescues also get blamed for people going to disreputable breeders. As if we should make a pup well and then turn it over to just anyone irrespective of whether they can take proper care of that pup or not. I just don't understand the logic.

Wow. You couldn't be more off base if you tried. Ladyjane is an active member of a rescue organization that takes care of hundreds of yorkie a whose owners surrendered them because they couldn't afford the medical care their dogs needed. Just this week, Ladyjane held a small dog in her arms while it went to the rainbow bridge due to an untreatable condition after being surrendered by an owner who put the digs welfare above her own ego.

I'm not suggesting she keep the foster. Foster only if you can give up the puppy to a permanent home. If someone like the op would apply to adopt one of our yorkies we wouldn't probably wouldn't adopt to her. It's not snobbery. We want them to have a better home than they had. But maybe she could love and care for them until they could find a forever home that can afford the expenses that come up. I don't know her so that would be up to the rescue to decide. I do know we (our rescue) is frequently accused of snobbery also because if we have a few prospective homes we want the one we can be assured can provide care as needed. If not we wait until one fits. Right now we have 4 beautiful yorkies for adoption. One with long term health issues, all from puppy mills. We can't know what health issues they will have in the future. Working with a rescue you know what I mean. We require a very reasonable adoption fee considering what we put into our dogs, not counting the time and love, so when people ask us to lower the fee they are almost automatically disqualified from adoption.

With YHR in order to foster one must meet the same requirements that a furever home would.

But first I need t say something to you other people who like to gang up on people like a bunch of bullies. Some of you think you are better than everybody else and it colors your thinking and the way you reply to people. So instead of helping people to learn the things they need to know you will push them away and they won't all be people like me that you so dispise. It is a shame, because I was thrilled to find this place when I got my first Yorkie two years ago, who by the way is healthy, happy and very well cared for. Now that I have seen the ugliness of this place I don't want to come here anymore and I am sure I am not the first to make that decision. Enjoy your little exclusive club and be careful you don't chase too many people away. I am not going to get exposed to anymore of this hatred and prejudice that some of you have and spew at people that are just looking for help. I have seen it many times in the last two years and now that it was aimed at me I can see even more how wrong some of you treat people. I did not say much to you after you went on your little tirade, calling me names...but right now I want to say that the only truly horrid remarks have come from you. Over and over you have bashed the very people who merely tried to assist you ... but you did not want us to voice our opinions. If you were not questioning your choices I don't think you would have reacted this strongly.

You have been extremely nasty and I am just going to say it and be done with you and your tossing things out away from yourself.

And, by the way, the so called unkind people prayed for Jazi as well. I am happy to hear that she is on the mend.

The doctor operated and got a lot of it. It kept breaking apart so there was a small piece they could not get. She believed it would be small enough to pass down. This morning she drank some water and did not vomit after drinking it. She has been walking around and playing some. This evening she ate about a teaspoon of food and did not start screaming or vomiting like she did before surgery. A half hour later she had still held it down. The doc will give her small amounts off and on and see how she does. If she holds it down and does not appear to be in pain after eating she will come home tomorrow evening

As for the spot on her lung the doc thinks she may have a touch of pneumonia from aspirating when she vomited. The doc kept Jazi at her house to take care of her the rest of the weekend. She may do another xray if she sees a need tomorrow when they get back to the clinic. The doc was very positive when I last talked to her. She was going to let me bring her home in the morning but then suggested I just go to work and pick her up after work. I love this vet, she is great with the animals and you can tell how much she loves them. She is doing a great job with Jazi and I will never be able to repay her for all that she has done for my babies!

Hun I think you need to take a deep breeth and see that people just worry and care about your pup. Linda is in no way an evil person I mean no evil person could do what she does she has shown and given lots or Yorkies love and a chance who might never have gotten that. Please do come back. Thank you Simple, I miss her crazy wild ways and sweet yorkie kisses. I think Mia is actually missing her too. She keeps going to the room her pen is in looking for her. It will be a long day waiting to get out of work to pick her up!
