Macie is still sick. :-(

I think you could offer pumpkin and/or rice. Her tummy isn't going to hold much at a time, she's so little. Be sure she is drinking. When Jazz was little and sick i would give him a little water in a syringe every 30 minutes or so. Praying she is soon well.

She finally pooped earlier. She isnt wanting to eat the chicken today, so I'll try to pumpkin.

Ive posted the link of Macie's blood work from yesterday, in case anyone would like to see it or give any advice on what you may think she has.

I am not going to sit here and guess what is wrong with her. I have a pretty good understanding of lab results but am not a vet......what I can tell you that if she were my pup she would be at a specialist sooner rather than later!!! She clearly has something going on.....
I would be extremely concerned if this were my pup.

Hes misdiagnosed her 2 times already. Im seeing a specialist Monday. First it was bone fragments, then last week she had kidney stones (which I think she does). He FINALLY tested her liver yesterday and it came back high.

Now hes back to possibly thinking its Liver Shunt. I seriously HATE this vet. My boyfriend wants me to sue him, but Im not sure I could actually do that. Seems like a hassle. Im just focused on Macie right now.

I had an appt last week with a specialist, but since I wasnt referred they gave me the run around and I got pushed to the side.

Ive paid this vet $1250 and had Macie sick for a month and still no answers.

I know her blood work is bad right now, but she seems to be doing better. Thats why Im not rushing her to the ER this weekend.

I finally got approved for Care Credit yesterday, so now I dont have to stress so much over the cost of her treatment.

I am SO glad you got the Care Credit!! That is awesome! I am sure that you will get some answers from the specialist. Hopefully your Macie will be diagnosed soon and whatever it is treated!!

Oh...and as for her labs and the way she is acting. That is always true...you treat the pup, not the labs! As long as you can keep her hydrated and keep her blood sugar up, she should be ok until Monday.

She and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Im so anxious for Monday and Im praying for answers. Idk how many more days I can take of not knowing and wondering.

No, not usually. They normally need to do testing...they will be able to tell you what they suspect it is. Sometimes it takes a little time to get to the bottom of things....but you will definitely be on the right track this time with a board certified vet!

I am sure you know this....but just make sure you take all of her records, including tests and xrays!

I'd take those test results and go to a Vet ER right away, or at least a new vet with Saturday hours. Seriously, puppies can become sick, but they can't stay sick, they have to get treated to survive.... especially Yorkie pups who are good at hiding things when they don't feel 100%. The longer it takes to begin the correct treatment on her, the longer it will take for her to get better... and the more money spent, provided her body can make the journey....

Does her abdomen look bloated to you at all? The top portion on the labs has to do with her red blood cells.... very concerning to me... also the liver values are fine ( all normal), An increased BUN can be caused by dehydration (or made worse by it).

Her liver values might be wnl but her ammonia level is a bit high. Again, I think a specialist will unravel all of it.

I agree, as always, with ladyjane.

Keep all her tests, labs etc, together and keep them handy incase she worsens, I'm sure your doing the right things, any little improvement IS an improvement!

Just remember if she declines at all, go to an emergency vet...keep trying to get her to eat and drink and keep her stimulated.

I'm glad your getting to the Specialist on Monday, hopefully this will begin the healing for your pup, and for you. I know how stressful these moments are...good luck and keep posting.

I totally agree. I have a good understanding of what I'm seeing and as Lady Jane has stated I would certainly have Macie at the Vet ASAP.

Has she gotten into anything exept those bones she that ate?
