She hasnt vomited it up yet. Normally when she vomits her food its within a few hours.

We are going to the specialist now so I'll update when I return.

The specialist just canceled on me.

He had an emergency come up. They are going to try to work me in tomorrow. If not tomorrow then she wont be seen til Monday.

She seems to be doing slightly better today. Shes not as shaky and shes moving her head alot more.

Im praying they can get us in tomorrow.

See if you can still take her to your vet for fluids in the meantime!

I am so sorry. The fluids are probably really important for her to have to help her kidneys to function. Can you go to your regular vet for that still unless there is another specialist who will see her?

There gonna try ro work me in tomorrow hopefully eith another vet. In the meantime i am going to the regular vet in a few minutes.

Shes back from the regular vet. He gave her more fluids and sent her home with antibiotics.

He still doesnt want me to see a specialist due to how expensive it is.

Im going to boil some chicken for her and hopefully she will eat it.

Is there any type of seasoning that I can put on it that wont hurt her tummy?

No do not add any seasonings. Just plain boiled chicken breast only.

It is not for your Vet to decide whether or not the specialist is too expensive. That is your discission.

Since she will eat boiled chicken, does anyone know how much I should feed her?

She ate about a table spoon full last night and kept it down. Shes normally free fed, but I dont wanna wanna over do it.

I have no idea on amounts. Maybe try a tablespoon or so a few times a day. Make sure all is normal in between and try to get her to drink also.

One of Maggie's favorite foods is plain boiled chicken. We always shred or cut it up into very small pieces. You can try mixing it with white rice too.

Hopefully the specialist will have some answers for you. I know how hard it is to wait to find things out and wondering if it will be ok or not.

Macie's mouth is so thick with saliva. Is there anything I can to help reduce this. If she doesnt drink enough water, her mouth starts trying to close shut b/c of all the saliva.

Ive been taking a syringe and keeping her mouth wet so it wont stick together.

I'm so sorry I don't have an answer for you. Is she responsive to you? Does she seem to be worse? Please call the emergency vet and ask them what you can do. Tell them what is going on and maybe they can help you. I hope the specialist can see her tomorrow. This baby needs to be seen tomorrow. Tell them she MUST be seen, that this has been going on way too long, and that you are willing wait in their office. Tell them this is an emergency and your regular vet has done all he can do, and that she needs help now. I'll be checking back for updates.

Have you tried chicken broth? I think I've read that it is ok. Hopefully someone will comment on that idea. She might take it because it tastes good.

I also remember giving Pedialyte (baby gatorade) when Maggie was a puppy. I'm sure it is fine. The docs might even suggest you give it to her while this is going on.

I have been know to go park my butt in the specialists office and refuse to leave until I am seen with my sick baby....I did not act defiant, but I went the "pitiful Pauline" route....I told them my baby was very ill, it was an emergency, and I was afraid she was going to die if he didnt see her, said I would sit there until closing time, but I was not leaving....I am NOT proud, I will do whatever it takes to get what I need for my child or my babies, SO YES!!! I CRIED LIKE A BABY IN THE WAITING ROOM!!!!! They saw me within an hour!!! Believe me, when the waiting room is full of people, and you start squalling and saying you are afraid your puppy is dying and you are not leaving until you are seen, THEY WILL SEE YOU!!! I AM SORRY BUT I AM WOMAN, SEE ME CRY!!!!!!
