| ![]() yea i found out later after i got ritz about how young they should be when they leave their mom...i got ritz as a christmas gift from my bf and at that point he was 6wks...and only once i started reading here about them i found out what and where we went wrong...our breeder never said anything to my bf about his safety ...even though she told him to call her if we ever needed anything...but after reading here..to be honest i just dont trust here... hes eating and drinking alot better today...thank god for that...im hand feeding him still cause i want him to eat... canned food really dsnt sit well with him...even though he loves it...usually gives him diahrea so i went back to his dry food... quick question: someone told me i could add alil honey to his water for him to drink ...is that even safe for him ?? | ![]() Do not add honey to his diet at all! Nutrical will take care of any hypoglycemia issues at this his little age. Honey has certain bacterias in it that a pup cannot handle and could put you right back where you were if not worse with the diarrhea. Hang in there with administering fluids, Nutrical and dry kibble with water to soften it. If the vet gave a specific canned food, feed that but I have always had better luck with water softened dry kibble. Good luck Dear! Keep posting.

| ![]() Don't add honey to his water. Again, you only give honey, Nutrical, pancake syrup, etc. to raise his blood sugar quickly if he is having a hypoglycemic episode. What he needs is frequent small meals with high protein and complex carbohydrates to stabilize his blood sugars. Do you know the warning signs of hypoglycemia?
