About the eyes, you can use a warm damp facecloth to wash the eyes. Make sure to keep him warm, he is likely not able to regulate his body temperature very well. Check to make sure he is drinking enough. Look at color of his gums should be pink and moist. Not dry and pale.

| Can you buy canned pumpkin there? Not pumkin pie mix, but pumpkin with nothing else added. If you can get him to eat a little of it it may help with the diarrhea. Also buy some plain yogurt and let him eat that. I would buy some pedialyte (it's for babies) and use a syringe or eye dropper and get some into him. It will help give him some energy and much needed fluid and minerals. Has the vet tested him for giardia or coccidia? My puppy had coccidia when I first got her and she was acting exactly like your little guy. Do not leave him alone at all and I would set an alarm and get up a couple of times in the night to check him. Good luck!! With care and medical attention, he will get better. |

| I would also try to get him to lick a little honey from your finger, and do it often. I have a dog that tends to have a low sugar problem. I used to give her the 'nutrical' but my vet says honey works better because it stays in the body longer. It is high calorie and sweet so they really like it, and it might make him want to drink a little more also. Good luck |

Jim what is karo syrup, I'm seen it advised here, but in Canada it is not a common term. Is it Maple syrup? or something else.

| I used Karo also when my little ones were babies, not very often but if there was any question of concern.

| Definitely is corn syrup here in Canada and it's quickest use is to rub on the gums. The vet says it's absorbed in to the dog's system the quickest this way. Thankfully have never needed it for our puppy but have had to resort to it for our diabetic black lab on a couple of occasions. |
