yea i found out later after i got ritz about how young they should be when they leave their mom...i got ritz as a christmas gift from my bf and at that point he was 6wks...and only once i started reading here about them i found out what and where we went wrong...our breeder never said anything to my bf about his safety ...even though she told him to call her if we ever needed anything...but after reading here..to be honest i just dont trust here...
hes eating and drinking alot better today...thank god for that...im hand feeding him still cause i want him to eat...
canned food really dsnt sit well with him...even though he loves it...usually gives him diahrea so i went back to his dry food...
quick question: someone told me i could add alil honey to his water for him to drink ...is that even safe for him ??

The risk of hypoglycemia is very high in a puppy so tiny. Don't overdo the "energy booster" (Nutrical) as it is only for hypoglycemia/low blood sugar, not a replacement for a meal. It will make him feel full and not want to eat his food. It's a quick sugar fix when his blood glucose drops too low, but unless you follow up with a meal, he will just crash again. He needs a good meal with protein and complex carbohydrates to stabilize his blood sugars. Hand feed him if that's the only way you can get him to eat. At his age, he might do better with canned rather than kibble. A little guy like Ritz needs frequent meals, at least 4-6 times a day.
