| Yes, we have a crate. He just won't rest & relax in it for some reason. He does better if we leave the house or at night (bedtime) with the lights out. Other than that he is crying and yelping. (not from pain, because he stops as soon as you get him) I'll just have to do frequent short errands out, so that he will nap during the day.

| Hey guys, sorry so late to this, just got online now and haven't read all replies yet, but I agree, ER vet now! It is not good to have him hold it for so long. I don't agree with the vet discharging him so soon after surgery. Katie was at the hospital for 3 days just to flush out her system first before sx and another 2 days after for observation. She had the catheder(sp?) so I didn't see how she peed in the 2 days after sx, but once we got home she was fine. The first day or so the urine was a little off colored (darker than usual) but the 2nd day was back to regular yellow. Also male and female dogs usually get different kind of stones, so I don't know how much knowledge I have that may help. but, the doctor didn't xray after surgery? katie's did to show all stones were removed. What medications were given?

| Ok just read that he finally peed. Make sure he gets plenty of water. If he doesn't seem back on schedule for the next pee, I would call the hospital again. Hope he feels better!

| Having had two rescues that I fostered go thru Bladder Stone Surgery (Cystotomy), I can tell you this is often seen post op and it is not normal! Most likely, your lil' one is straining because a piece of "gravel" is blocking or irritating him. After Cystotomy sugery, they often will need to go back in to have their urethra's flushed via a catheter to clear any debris/gravel. Whatever you do...do NOT wait to get this checked out! Please call your Vet's emergency phone number and follow their advise ASAP! This is painful, too! Just ask a man who's tried to pass a kidney stone!
