| ![]() hey all! sorry i haven't logged on in awhile. bella is doing good. she has more movement on her right side now and would run ahead of me when we go walking (like she use to) instead of staying close and walking close to edges. I have to tell her to wait for me like before she got sick. i'm a little slow since my belly has grown double the size ![]() |

| ![]() I don't know what to do. The neurologist is tapering Bella's prednisolone med to once a day every other day and slowly trying to get her off of it. I thought she would have to be on it forever. The omeprazole however, he wants her to stay on it. These past few days I've noticed bella wheezing like crazy and rubbing her face alot on her carpet while she's wheezing (sort of like when I first noticed her symptoms). Wouldn't this mean the tapering is good for her and she should continue on the prednisolone? The neuro wanted me to taper it for 10 days and call him back...I have 5 more days and I don't think I can wait that long since I'm so worried. p.s Bella turned 2 day!!! yey!! ![]() |

Also. Dogs can Have sweet potatoes. I have a terrible time because none of mine will eat any snack. I don;t care how expensive or cheap. they sniff and walk away...Not even a lick...And it is all 3 of them/the one with pancreatitis wants everything. Little chow hound... Do you know of other things I can prepare for treats. I would like something to help in training but never can find anything they will tolerate. Thanks Jessie and Poohbear

Happy Birthday low protein treat would be steam some cod i am using that for pilling dd - you can keep in a baggy for 3 days after steaming in fridge mash it to see if bones in it and keep the rest in freezer so i bring out a baggie every 3 days. You can steam apples too, egg whites but be careful with protein -- I think her numbers were pretty low though. You can do watermelon. Join the liver groups they will give you some more ideas. I am very strict with mine so they just get their food as treats and they do not know the difference

| ![]() Call neuro ASAP. The Theophylline is for the respiratory condition that often comes along with this condition. If she's wheezing she needs to be on it. How's she doing otherwise ? Vision ? is she still wobbly ? |

| ![]() OMG, I'm having a real problem with the Neuro playing around with her meds. Does he think it's just going to go away, or he's going to cure her somehow by playing with meds ??? if he's not carefull he's going to kill her. Since this started with Bella I have called WSU to ask general questions on this condition such as can they ever stop the meds. The answer I got was it's not likely. If she were mine I would take her somewhere else. IMO this Neuro is playing with fire. |

also my friend is seeing this neurologist and really likes her but she is in so cal so maybe she will do a phone consult to discuss with you treatment - sometimes sadly it takes a team of people to treat a difficult case http://www.asgvets.com/index.php?opt...143&Itemid=131 Last edited by dwerten; 03-23-2010 at 07:16 PM.
