| ![]() I can't even believe a vet would be so cruel that they wouldn't put a suffering dog to sleep if they knew they would just suffer greatly and die. That strikes me and unethical and unmoral. I am SO SORRY you had to go through this, but I'm sure your baby felt safe and loved at the last moments of her life. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. |

| ![]() Many vets , especially emergency vet clinics will ask for payment up front or half of the payment. If you cant pay then you have to leave. Ive seen it with my own eyes. People begging to get their dying pet treated and the receptionist saying " Im sorry but this is a business and we need payment upfront" Its horrible to be helpless and to know that the only reason your baby didnt have a chance was because of the almighty Green dollar. My eyes filled with tears and my gut just filled with anger. But you did nothing wrong. You loved that baby very much and I'm sure of that. You were with her the whole time and she needed that very much. Hugs to you. Please keep an eye on the other dogs. If you can find a way to seperate each of them and keep them seperated in case one of them has diarrheah you will know right away. IF they have seen a vet in the last 12 months, you should at least be able to take a fecal sample and get it tested for about $16 without having to take them in for a checkup and they can prescribe at least 2 meds that are very cheap, you can get them through Walmart. I was charged $21 for an antibiotic for a similar bloody diarreah that looked like jelly but the vet even told me to get it at Walmart instead because it was in their $4 prescription plan. Again I'm so sorry this happened. R.I.P Molly Gen |

| ![]() You may not be able to find it but as I have said several times, I have lived it. It can happen and it did happen to my sheltie with rotten chicken. Of course it could be something else and for the sake of her other animals I hope it isn't but I fail to see the point in continuing to question her and imply that what she has said is not truthfull.

| ![]() Are vets obligated to help, even if it's just putting an animal down? Would that cost that much for them? I understand that vet's are running a business and may not be able to extensively treat every animal, but if they know the animal is going to die, why can't they euthanize it and put it out of its misery? ![]() |

| ![]() I also hope she will be back soon to post about her other dogs. In another hand, in a desperate situation like this, i am sure the OP , was online for support, company and comfort. It upsets me to see some posts blaming her here. Specially because whoever started the blame was not even sure and did not read the whole tread before placing a blame . This is a great forum. I enjoy coming here often. But sometimes the blames are useless and hurtful. My friend just spent a small fortune treating her yorkie. We all think she was poisoned by either a neighbor or she caught a mouse that had been poisoned. She had the same symptoms and despite a very large bill , she still lost her yorkie. A otherwise very healthy and well vetted young dog. She passed on her 3rd birthday ! Who know what the Op was experiencing when she came home and decided to go online for support??? She explained that she just moved to this very rural area... appears to me that she tried ! Of course , there will be always the question if she could try even harder... But wasn't the purpose of her posts to SUPPORT ? Not blame? Everyone can see clearly that the OP was hurt. I am sorry about the weird post but i had to VENT ! I am seeing a lot of blame here lately and it bothers me. I know there are awesome people that are active here. Post great advices ! There is a lot of help and support too. But in a desperate post like this i am sure it is very disrespectful to post blame ! Happy new Year to everyone ! And many blessings to the OP ! May her home , humans and furry , be all safe and blessed this 2010! XOXO

I am all in favor of questions. That is not what i posted about. Specially if they can help someone else or another dog, awesome. Just feel hurtful to see the person looking for support being blamed. XOXO
