| I guess I am confused. What exactly did the daughter do that was so wrong? I thought that the other dog jumped up and that made the puppy fall on the floor? Where is the negligence there?

Gennie, I'm sure your daughter is beside herself with remorse and agree that she doesn't need to be grounded to make the point. Perhaps by learning this lesson now, she will be able to avoid a worse accident in the future. I will be keeping you all in my prayers.

| I'm so sorry to hear about your little girl. My little guy broke his 2 front legs at a year old. He had plates put in and they were removed a few months later. He healed so quickly and is 100% today and is now 6. I hope your little girls is ok. My thoughts are with you :-). If you have any questions about the surgery or the recovery please feel free to message me. |

| Good news: she did very well through surgery! Bad news: her diarrhea is now bloody so I'm letting her stay with the emergency vets over night. I was so upset over her staying over there because she's so young and hasn't had all her puppy shots so I was very fearful of a sick dog coming in with parvo. There was an animal control shut down for a while due to a parvo out break not far from here. So they have her in the cat ward. I'm good with that. Less noise and not as dangerous for her. I totoally agree on my daughter not being grounded and was shocked my sis said she should be. And yes, I was upset with her because I didn't want her having Bijou on the couch. I have learned from other's mistakes. Q: In everyone's opinion (since they told me they couldn't test for parvo at the surgeon's office) could the bloody pooh just from stress...please be honest. I know there's a chance it's parvo, but I just want to know if it's associated with stress too. I check with emergency vets and in the two and a half hours she's been with them no pooh. That's good, right? Sorry, I didn't get on sooner. We took the other pups for a long walk and then DH and I went for a very much needed drink. Thank you all for the kind words of support and the prayers / well wishes. It's helped us tons more that you probably realize!

| Sorry about your bijou. Glad the surgery went well, and yes bloody diarrhea can be caused by stress and also some pain meds. My yorkie had dental surgery 2 weeks ago and came out of surgery with bloody diarrhea that lasted 3 days due to stress. They gave her some meds to stop it and then she was fine. They said some of it could have come from her pain meds also. Please keep us updated on your baby.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!! That's what my thoughts were, as it started last night after all this. But I know how easily they catch Parvo too. DH says everyday she's a live she'll just get stronger and stronger. I've been so stress over all this. Encluding the being upset with my daughter part. She really is such a good kid that I couldn't believe this happened with her. She has always been an honor student and we talk so freely with each other about everything, so that's why I can't believe this happened. She has no idea how disappointed I was, I only shared that with you all, as I know other Yorkie lovers would understand. But I did talk with her about being a better protector of Bijou. I truely think she will be more careful and protective in the future. I'm so glad I have you all for support through all this!!!

| Please, don't be too hard on your daughter. Yes, you told her not to put the puppy on the couch, but can you imagine what she is going thru? 17 is a very difficult age, and they take things much harder than we do. I'm so glad your puppy is doing better, and you will be amazed at how fast they bounce back from a broken leg. I have a poodle that jumped off a deck (my fault) and broke her leg. The vet said the break was clean put a cast on it and said it would heal in 6 weeks. That was last August, after months of the vet telling me it would heal, on New years eve she had to have her leg amputated because gangrene set in. She does very well on three legs, but there were several weeks we thought she would not make it. Praise God your vet had enough sense to plate and put rods in her leg! I wish mine did...
