| ![]() After having multiple broken bones after a car accident several years ago, I can tell you the longer you wait, the less likely Max's legs will heal. Being able to put weight on bones as soon as possible is very important as it stimulates bone growth. At this point, I think you have to either find a way to pay for his surgery now or expect that he will need both legs amputated. |

| ![]() If you cant afford his surgery and there is no help anywhere, your other option would be to surrender him to a Yorkie Rescue only....That way he will get medical attention and a home. I know this is very hard but its better than him losing his legs.... |

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | ![]() I've hit all the charities and I either don't qualify for financial aid or the charities don't have the funds right now. Max has been really quiet and cuddily for the past few days. The vet needs $1000 down and then he will allow me to make payments for the remainder of the $1500. I've got $250 but don't know where I'm gonna get the remaining $750. This whole thing with Max is also increasing my depression. I love my baby so much that I almost cry each time he hops from the couch to the we-pad to go potty. ![]() |

| ![]() I really don't mean to offend you, but this thread started nearly 3 weeks ago and there's been an innocent little dog walking around on 2 broken legs since then. Have you even applied for Care Credit at carecredit.com? You can be approved within seconds. Really, if you don't see any way of having the money in the VERY near future, the only right thing to do would be to surrender the dog to a rescue so that he can get the help he needs. It would KILL me to surrender my dog, but if he was suffering for 3 weeks and I had no way within my means of getting him well, I'd do it in a heartbeat because I love him so much. I wish both of you the best, but please do right by Max.

| ![]() Do you have any family members , friends who could help you? If not then your going to need to do what is right for Max. Surrender him to a Yorkie rescue, and give him a new lease on life. He needs his legs fixed before it is too late. He is in pain , and it is wrong for him not to have the surgery he needs to life a good life he deserves . I am also on Social Security. I understand how hard it can be , however, the needs of our animals and their lives matter just as much . I know this is going to be a difficult decision. Cathy

| ![]() Please consider surrendering him to a rescue. You cannot wait any longer to try to figure out where you are going to get money from to fix his legs. PM me and I will see what I can do to find a good rescue that will take in and get him the immediate attention that he needs. This has gone on far too long and sometimes the only thing to do would be to let him go. Please let me help you get him the care that he DESERVES to live a long and healthy life before it is too late. ![]()

I so agree with all this. What that poor baby must be going through. CareCredit® Healthcare Finance - Payment Plans and Financing for Cosmetic Surgery, Dental, Vision, Hearing, Veterinary & Other Medical Procedures I know people who have used this carecredit its just like a credit card but with no % rate. the longer you wait the worse off it will be. If you cant afford to get this boy the help he needs please find someone willing to take him in that can afford it. I know you love him, but you have to think about what he needs first. after all this WHY? are you still letting him on the couch and crawl around the house, this may cause more damage to his already broken legs. Please crate him to keep him from hurting his self even more until you can get the poor babies legs fixed.if he stumbled off the couch again there may be a 3rd leg broken. please stop taking any more chances with this baby. Im just sick over all this.

I fear at this point Max probably needs a double amputation. Can you afford that surgery and the rehabilitation he will need afterwards? The cart he will need for the rest of his life? Custom carts run around $300 plus. It is cruel to make Max suffer any longer IMO. Either get him the medical care he needs or turn him into rescue where he can be properly cared for.
