| I tried and tried and tried to grow Ginger's hair out. But her allergies have been getting to her lately, and she chewed hair off her left hind leg and her right side. So now she's got a short body, but I left the hair kinda long on her head, since that was the hardest to grow out. We're going to keep it short for awhile, see if we can get her skin under control... BTW, I think she's beautiful either way

Chloe's is long and also half of her hair is very cottony BUT if you use Easy Groom Ruff out finishing spray (a spray on leave in conditioner) after bathing them and sometimes I spray it in between baths, the knots never get set in. IF I don't use this product on Chloe-she gets knots and tangles within 5 minutes of grooming just from playing with Sissy Sissy is still short and I was going to keep her cut in a puppy cut altho so far all we did was trim(she's the younger of the 2) She is a tomboy girly girl, so once her personality started showing I did think puppy cut when she got older PLUS she hates bows, but now that she is starting to grow, I think I may change my mind. I was also drawn to the Yorkie girls because of the long coat. Before I got Sissy I used to think of the boys in the puppy cut and girls long hair. Still confused I like the sweetness of the puppy cut but Aaahh the long coat, hmmm Well I guess as time goes on, I will decide for Sissy in the next few months.Strange how one of mine Loves dresses and bows and the other likes to look disheveled. When I try to dress Sissy or use bows - she ripes them out and takes her clothes off. She even takes Chloes bows out if I don't stay on top of her. Chloe on the other hand goes nuts, jumps up on the recliner where I dress her, the minute I have a bow or dress in my hand. My guess is these little sweet hearts are really like children To each, their own

| I keep Ferdinand's short. His is naturally still short because he's only 17 weeks old. But I intend on keeping a puppy cut.

| Max just had his first haircut. The groomer said his hair is too thin to let grow long. He's 5 months old and she said he's in between puppy hair and adult hair. Is this true? I'd like to try him with a long, shiny coat, but I don't know if he'll really have that kind of fur. When does their coat change? Or does it? He looks adorable in his puppy cut, so I'll live if he never has that kind of coat. I'm just curious. Can someone let me know? Thanks, Judy |

You know Judy, I just don't get it.... My groomer said Chloe's hair was too thin when she was a baby and told me NOT to get the puppy cut for that reason and she reccomended leaving her long. Today She came to groom both Chloe & Sissy, she had to thin Chloe out some, but I was undecided about Sissy, once again she recomended leaving her longer, I asked her why she felt that way and she said to get the puppy cut, her hair was too thin and to achieve the puppy cut, they layer it and she did not think it was "thick" enuf to do that, so we left Sissy long too and she looked so sweet when she came out of her Van.......... So maybe it depends on the groomers opinion I bet a member who is a groomer may see this and set us both straight![]() P.S. Sissy is a tomboy (which is why I was going to keep her short before my conversation with the groomer) She looked so sweet once done and within 2 minutes her bow & band was torn out. Chloe always leaves her's in

| Maybe she didn't give him a puppy cut. She may have just trimmed his shaggy ends. She did his head nicely - trimmed the bangs and his little beard and gave it all a nice shape. I would go with your groomer's opinion. I really didn't get into a conversation about it with her. I'm just curious as to whether or not she's telling me the truth about whether or not this is the way his fur is, or if it will really thicken as he gets older. There's a LOT of money to be made on small dogs in NYC and I find that people in the business are very careful about what they tell the dog owners for fear of losing their business. It's a difficult, highly competitive business, and the customer is always right. They're very good groomers, and they're really kind to the animals. No cages, no blower ovens, etc., and a really fair price for grooming. By the way, yours are both adorable, whatever cuts they have. I just got a disposable digital camera and will post Max's picture as soon as I get the disc. Judy Last edited by judyeve; 09-24-2006 at 05:50 AM. |

Hi again Judy, Chloe is 14 months old and her hair got thicker as she grew older. Sissy's is still fine but my groomer says they are all different. Chloe's was skimpy and so baby fine thin when she was little, (Sissy at 7 months feels thick in comparasion - age wise) but yet the groomer still felt she was thin so who knows... Anyway I was just in Brooklyn, I bought Sissy at Puppy Petite near you. If I had know the mark up before I made the trip, I would have bought her here in Michigan but Chloe & my G'ma fell in love with her when we went to visit. (She is hard to train & sneeky and an instigator with Chloe) We love her, but I think Puppy Petite runs a puppy mill from what I am reading I can tell so many differences in her & Chloe, I do hope it is personality and not puppy mill material, next time I know better... As far as grooming goes, my sister is a great groomer, she lives in Long Island but visits my G'ma every weekend in Richmond Hill Queens ( not far from Brooklyn) so if you ever need a 2nd opinion on what to believe or what not to, we may be able to get it from her. Next time I'm in NY we should try to get together.

| I keep Buddy short because I like him to look like a boy - but he hung out with his new "girlfriend" yesterday and he still looked like the boy, though she has short hair as well - she is much more delicate! Buddy went to the groomers today to get his neat trimmed look back, but here he was this morning - I LOVE HIM! |

| I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | My vote went for the short I love the "teddy bear" look, versus the long "show dog" look. That is just my opinion. I don't like a Yorkie to be cut TOO short (don't like the "Schnauzer" look), but I don't prefer the really looong look either. I love the way Stedman is right now (see my avatar lol). He is PERFECT!

Puppy Petite is the on line web site name, at the store it is Puppy Boutique,(is this what others are calling a puppy mill?) how funny, maybe our babies are related?? Sissy's mom was Penelope and her Dad was Chester, her birthday was April 2, 2006, human owner was Mike & Sandra Myers (it looks like) I use pads also for both mine. Chloe is 9 months older then Sissy. I love her but she had really bad human problems and was so afraid, therefore I am glad she had Chloe to trust until she started trusting me And yes, I will let you know when I head back to G'ma's house . Wish I was retiring some days ha ha, but then I'd be bored to tears and Chloe hates when I cry

| Gracie is 3-1/2 years old - she is very energetic and is in to everything - she love to skwirm in the grass - I love her with all my heart - but I call her the "pig pen" of Yorkie-dom. She prefers to call it the "bed head" look = she likes to be brushed everyday - She is to busy playing, chasing cats, birds, and lizards. My little tom-boy at heart
