Long hair or puppy cut? I was wondering how people keep there yorkies hair, provided they are not show dogs....long or short? gads112903 future mom to a yorkie pup |
I keep all of mine in their full coat and I could never cut their hair short. I was drawn to the yorkie breed because of their long gorgeous hair and I love yorkies in a full coat so mine will always be in a full coat. |
I keep Sophie's long. She has a really nice thick, shiny coat. I have been tempted to cut it but haven't had the nerve.:aimeeyork :) |

OOOH, I'm sooo glad you didn't cut it - Sophie has such a gorgeous coat - I just want to run my fingers through it! I love the long coat on Yorkies (a puppy cut can be super cute as well though!) and everyone tells me to cut Oscar's but I just can't do it. His isn't even that long yet - only halfway to the floor, but his hair is just so pretty! |
I love teh Long hair and keep mine in full coat, That's what draws mw to the Yorkies. It is more work but I love the look. Puppy cuts are cute and more functional though. |
There wasn't an option for me to vote as i like to keep my boys hair short, and my girls hair long. Duke i especially like to keep short has his coat grows curly and it looks funny, my dad doesnt like the boys with long hair, but does the girls lol  |
When Indy was little I had him clipped close once. He has kind of a long body and he looked funny so I let it grow in. My groomer clips his whole underside kind of short and the long hair on the sides covers it so you don't notice it, but it keeps him cleaner and I think cooler in the summer. Right now he has 2 big chunks out on either side because the vet shaved him for his ultrasound. It's only hair and it will grow out! |
I voted short but I do keep Gracie's long. I keep the two boys, Sugar and Spike short because they both have really thick coats and with three dogs, it was getting too hard to keep up. I do keep a top knot on Sugar though. |
I have kept Buddy in a puppy cut since I got him at 14wks. His last cut was last June. We are letting it grow. He has a silky coat and I am very anxious to see him with a full coat. His face already looks different. I am concerned about snow. Will it stick to his legs and coat. It really is so easy when they are short. I going to try and hang in.:) |
I keep Fancy's coat long. I am planning on showing, but even if I didn't, I would keep it long, she's just tooooooooooo pretty! |
I keep Hobbs' coat short, in a puppy cut, but I am going to let Hootie's grow out longer since she is a girl. I want to put a little barrett in her head when her hair up there gets long enough. When we go on walks, I want people to know that Hootie is a girl and that Hobbs is a boy. Hobbs is tired of people thinking he is a she! :D :p :D :p :D |
i keep mine cut short! |
I am letting Dixies grow out, when I got her groomed I told her I was letting them grow out so she just did a little here and there...I am also going to let Peanuts grow out. I love the long hair. when I look at yt members long haired beauties, it makes me smile, they are so pretty :) |
I have one long and one in a puppy cut. I like long hair the best but Chachi has a cotton coat so i keep it short |
Looooonnnnngggggg............ I keep my Kizsez's coat long. I love the feel of the silky texture of her coat. Other than when she was a puppy and her coat was short I cannot picture her with a short coat. She is nearly five years old now and I have always taken care of her coat. |
