| What self respecting cook doesn't hide ingredients? Two funny stories.... When I was a kid I HATED sweet potatoes - I thought I'd rather starve than eat them. Well, my mother made the best pumpkin pies every Thanksgiving. I loved them until I found out that she sometimes made sweet potato pies and called them pumpkin pies for my benefit. After that, when mom would make pumpkin pies, I would always check the trash for the pumpkin can. If I didn't find it, I didn't eat pie. When hubby and I first married -over thirty years ago - he would only eat Skippy or Peterpan Peanut Butter. During the time we lived in Michigan I regularly visited the bulk food store where they had fresh ground Kraft peanut butter. Not only was it the best peanut butter you've ever put in your mouth, it was about 1/2 the price of the two brand that Ron ate. So I did what any self respecting wife/mother would do. I saved a Skippy peanut butter jar and would buy the Kraft yummy Kraft pb from the bulk food store. As soon as I got home I'd put the Kraft pb in the Kraft jar. Ron ate the pb like it was going out of style. I did this for years. When I finally 'fessed up he refused to eat peanut butter for months. Needless to say, he didn't finding it amusing. |

| I KNOW RIGHT?!! First time I tried sashimi my mom wouldn't tell me what it was. She and my sis were eating it and yumming and oohing and ahhing, so I asked what they were eating. She said just try and and see if you like it or not. I ate and and said it was good and asked what it was. She said Raw fish! I sat there for a second, and I thought, well that sounds gross, but I just ate some and it tasted good, so well I liked it! She turned me into a sushi addict, not a cheap thing to be addicted to. And that leads me to oysters. How do you know it's gross if you've never had it? Sure it looks gross, but so does most seafood. I mean heck even beef and chicken are gross if you think about it. A drumstick? You're eating the leg of a dead chicken, ripping its meat off his bone for god's sake! LOL What a savage! ![]() Now cilantro? That's just nasty.

I eat fish brains, nothing is really that nasty to me when it comes to food. I ate escargot out of the shells remember? I have photographic evidence. And it's the SHELLS that scare me. BTW, go Michelle on the oyster! It's a start!

Oops meant to quote Rosie. But anyway I know what you mean. that's why I hate pea soup. I hate the texture of peas. Kinds of sandy. Just like over ripe apples, watermelon, bananas too!
