| I agree. It really sounds like something everyone should know to do: If your child is missing, call the police, report it. It's a shame we need to make not reporting your child a crime to catch criminals/child murderers!

| I never thought we would have to have a law because a parent might not report a missing child, did ya'll?

| If they had had a law like this, maybe she would be doing time now for not reporting that precious little baby missing. At least she would be paying something for her crimes.

| The Caylee law petition has been filed. It only needed 100,000 signatures to file it. It had the signatures needed within 24 hours. When I signed it the other day it was only needing about 6000. Within 30 min. he had gotten 10,000 signatures. Now this is a new one below Please sign It is one to bring her to federal court. I really don't understand it, but I signed it anyway http://www.change.org/petitions/the-...-federal-court If this case is brought before the Federal court it will be a exception to double jeopardy and from the moment Casey Anthony lied to the FBI she was in violation of The Martha Stewart law. This is a federal offense and comes with a 5 year sentence for each count. First Degree Murder is also a federal offense! Please we must not let this crime go unpunished. An injustice was commited on July 5th, sign this petition and give Caylee the justice she deserves. |

| Okay, did that one just now. Hmmm, doubt there is any chance but I know a while back they got a murderer who'd been acquitted by the state under federal murder. Saw it on a show on Investigation Discovery Channel.

| What exactly does that mean? Even though the state found her not guilty and federal govt can still go after her for federal court?

| It was a man who had been acquitted by the State and the TV show kind of adroitly skipped over how it was he was tried for the same crime federally and found guilty but it was on the show. It was late and I remember thinking they were quite vague in explaining exactly how they brought murder charges federally but they showed the fed trial footage and he was found guilty that time. Wish I could think of who they guy was and who it was he killed. This guy was clearly guilty and as I recall there was some evidence they couldn't use first case or something that came in during fed trial. They rerun that stuff on ID so often, maybe I will see it again and can let you all know.

| Here in Mississippi we've had some old Klansmen tried on civil rights violations in Federal Court. This was many years after being acquitted of murder from back in the 60's. They couldn't be retried on that charge so the civil rights violation was used. I don't remember the exact sentence, but quite a few were convicted on that basis. Being that they were old men by that time, it was really a life sentence for them.
