Wow..she really is in denial and still thinks she is doing a great job as a mom. She does need Nanny 911. If she have admitted her sons got in to a lot of trouble lately; that itself explains a lot. I hope they wake up soon as parents. I don't think we need more kids who are cruel to animals just because they have never been told/taught that it is not the right thing to do.

It's ok because their invites will be far and few and eventually be non-existent. So they will be stuck home with the bebes kids to tear up their house. Then when they get older they will be in juvie because it will be everyone elses fault when things happen.

She is so not fooling anyone but her damn self. That was way rude and uncalled for to say your daughter's room was mess or something was out of place. Shoot it's her room and it can be that way. There is no way one child could have made that sort of mess.

well, I wrote her back last night further explaining my case to her and telling her that I was disappointed in her denial in her email. it was a long email explaining to her that there was no way she could deny this and that it is frustrating that she felt she had a right to.

anyway, she wrote me a long, apologetic email back, thanking me for bringing it to her attention, and apologizing for how she referred to my daughters room...saying that she thinks I keep a very neat house and how much she loves my house and my "decor". anyway, it was a positive email and she asked for my forgiveness and said that her kids have been in BIG trouble over it and that her oldest has offered...on his own...to come and help Trinity clean up any time she needs help.

I thought that was nice. she also offered to pay for the fish and any damage that might be done. I told her I do not want that...i simply wanted an apology and to help her understand that she needs to keep a better eye on the kids when they are in someone else's home. She agreed and has thoroughly apologized.

I still will not be inviting them over...but at least now we don't have to have awkward feelings when we see each other at church.

She's not stupid..she doesnt' want to alienate a potential babysitter for her bebes kids.

I would stick to the exact facts. Including the fact that they are not welcome in your home again. Detail the damage done and tell them that you felt they should know. The one thing I hate about the written word - (yeah, I know it's all we've got on YT ) - sometimes things come across differently than we intended them.

Do they offer some parenting classes at your church - can you sign these folks up -- I would be so tempted to slip some Bible verses in the email. I think it is great they you are willing to put this effort into letting them know how you feel - I would be tempted to be a wimp & just never open my home to them again.

So what did your mutual friend have to say about the entire event? She should be thrilled these brats aren't coming to her wedding.

I think you really did a very good job in explaining things to her. She might have already been aware of it .It is just that she needs to confront it and by what you mentioned, she is finally seeing it.

I'm so glad she has apologized and accepted the fact that she and her boys were in the wrong, not you! I don't blame you for still not inviting them over, but at least now you guys can be on better terms. Maybe she was just really upset when you first e-mailed her, and after a couple days realized that you weren't lying or over reacting?
