| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Aiden goes again next Thursday. He weighed 5.4 and then two weeks later 8.8. I hope he stops growing, just because he's small framed.

| My first duo of Yorkies, Nyx and Minnie, were 12 and 8 pounds. My current ones, Tucker and Molly, are 12 and 9. Actually I sought out larger Yorkies. Not interested in breeding them and also scared that the tiny ones would get injured or have health problems. Also, I live in a harsh climate. You can give a 9-10 pounder a big hug. When people ask what breed they are, we say they're Giant Yorkies, and others think this is an actual breed. (Guess Tucker is a popular name for a Yorkie.) |

At christmas we were at my mother-in-law's her husband has a son that has a weenie dog (can't spell the breed) and a Rottweiler. I was a little nervous about the first meeting, well guess what happened. The Rottie went to sniff pepper and pepper just started barking at her. The Rottie tried to stay away from her the rest of the day. At one point i found the dogs in a bedroom, the Rottie was in the corner trying to hide behind her mom. She was pinned in a corner between the wall and the bed with pepper at the end of the bed just barking away. The funny thing is my mil has a havenese named molly that is the same size as pepper and the rottie usually does to molly what pepper did to her. It was so funny ![]() I used to say that pepper had a stray rottie gene somewhere, guess i was right!

| Twinkle is 8lb and is 7months old now. Both her parents were within the standard size. I paid less for her because she was big and she is a loved and loving family pet I could never imagine a dog smaller than her, until I saw a lady walking a yorkie at a park we sometimes go to.....her yorkie was 3 years old and about 3 pounds - he was the cutest little thing! xxx xxx

| I think that breeders have pushed the phrase "tea cup" out their so much that everyone expects Yorkies to all fit in a tea cup for the rest of their lives, but that is really the more uncommon thing to happen. It's fun to take pictures of puppies in cups, shoes and baskets, but they all grow to different sizes. I have a Yorky that is 7 1/2lbs, and my vet has one that's 14lbs. Mine has the best personality, and he's also very muscular and athletic. I would just smile and laugh and move on. No reason to explain anything to anybody. Everybody here knows he's perfect the way God made him! |

| He is going to be 8 months in 2 weeks. His mom weighs 7lbs. and supposedly, his dad weighs 4lbs. I was expecting a 7lbs. max adult weight too - but agree with everyone that his weight makes him more "playable" and not as fragile and more to love and cuddle. | Gunner was 3 pounds at 10 weeks; 8 pounds at age 1 and at age 2 is 11 pounds - his name was "Tank" when he was born because of his size. His mom weighs 4 lbs and his dad that weighed 3 1/2 pounds. I think he is genetically a throw-back to the original Yorkies...who were around 12 pounds. He is energetic and adorable with a teddy bear face! |

| Yes, I have a Yorkie that is over 7 pounds. She is almost 10 pounds also. I had never bought a dog before either, I did the same as you, a bought her from the paper. I have also been told she is so "big". I don't mind, because she is beautiful, she has a healthy coat. Today I was around 3 other Yorkies that were so much smaller than her, but everyone that was there, stopped to tell me how pretty she was. They never mentioned how pretty the smaller ones were. Their coat looked like wire, and they didn't look healthy. I am not saying all small Yorkies look bad, because I have seen some that are beautiful, I just think size doesn't matter unless you plan to show your Yorkie. I just wanted my Yorkie, to love and spoil. Sandy and Chance |

| Hi Sandy, I get the same responses from people about Gunner. They always asked where I got him. Everyone loves his beautiful coat and his teddy bear face. He does tricks (High 5, roll over, crawl...) and is a cutie. Gunner was actually a gift from my kids who raise Yorkies. They were shocked at his size, but he's perfect for me. I hesitated getting a Yorkie because I didn't want a really small dog. I have friends with the tiny ones, but they have more health problems and can easily be hurt (accidently) by kids. We have 7 grandkids and I wanted them to be able to play with our dog. Gunner worked out perfectly. I love them all (and dogs/animals in general); but Gunner is definitely special. Marcia & Gunner |
