| I did have a female that was 14 lbs she was from smaller parents and I was told she would be over 7 lbs. She was AKC I had to laugh as I called her 2 dogs in one. But the breeder couldn't believe she had gotten that large. I was lucky, my breeder knew me well and due to my health I can't lift much or it strains my arms. The breeder ended up giving another puppy at Christmas time. But my breeder loved my larger dog so much she kept her she had a great personality and she is a lover. Her mom is in the home with her and she is the queen over her mom per the breeder. Buffy was an adorable dog. I don't think you have as much troubles out of the larger dog, health wise as you do with the smaller ones. Don't let anyone tell you he is a mix. Tell them that yorkies use to be this size and was breed down. Most people think of yorkies being the tinies. They think 7lbs are large anymore.

| I too have a larger yorkie. He is about 10 lbs also, and very muscular, not fat. He also has a very thick coat, which has to be kept short, or you would have to brush him all day long. He is AKC registered, but I think he is what they call a wooly or cotten yorkie. We also live in Colorado, for about 1 1/2 years now. He is just as lovable as any other yorkie, and just as smart. |

| YUP YUP - Bailey is 6 months next week and is 7lbs. When he around other yorkies he is huge, but he can still fit under the couch, and by all means is still a small dog. No shame! |

| I have to tell you that I'm excited to have found this post, I wanted my teapot Angel to have a pup, "she is pregnant now" and I mentioned it on this site, and this lady sent me a sizzling private message asking me why I would want to mess up the breed by breeding my angel, and it went on and on. Thanks for....

| Winston too is a big boy...but so lovable and sweet. He is well over 8 pounds so yes, he's above standard weight. But his health is all I'm concerned about. If he's healthy...I'm happy.

| When we decided to buy a Yorkie for our family we went in search of a "teapot"....we wanted one that was larger. (at least 8 to 10 lbs) We found a breeder that had lots of "tiny" yorkies but she was also advertising one boy that was the "biggest" boy she had ever had!!! (it was almost like she was apologizing for his size) We went to see him and fell head over hills in love!!! He is now one year old and 10lbs of LOVE!!!!! The sweetest thing ever!!!!

| Size is so hard to judge or control. I know of a 6 lb female bred with a 6 lb. male who threw two 15 lb. males and a 10 lb. female. Nothing in the line (3 gen. back) suggested that result. As puppies they were just slightly above chart size for a 5 lb. dog. The important thing is that we love them just the way they are. After all they love us -- and speaking personally I have a few extra pounds on me too.

| We have a girl that we refer to as a "Big Gulp." She weighs somewhere between 8 and 9 pounds at almost 18 months. Her mother is 9lbs and her dad is 5lbs. We purchased a "sippy cup" male Easter Sunday. He weighs 3.3 pounds at almost 6 months. Can you guess which "cup" rules the roost? ;^) Trish |

| Snickers is 9 or 10 Lbs i guess. maybe even more.. I love him to death,,.. I know exactly how you feel when people say its a mix breed or whatever because he large. My groomer charge me $6 extra because she said he is really big.. I brought my 3 dogs to groom and we agreed a price. i said i have a yorkie and 2 scottish terrier. She said o this is the price. And then when she saw them , she said .. hm are you sure its a yorkie?? HE is pretty big and i need to charge you $6 more.. I couldnt believe it, but she was dead serious. And they are surprised when you dont give them a tip afterwards. Love Priscilla |
