| I bought two litter mates from a local lady who only has 3breeder females. Both little girls. One weighs 7.4 lbs. the other 5.4 lbs. The smaller one is really delicate, ears up and a little angel. The bigger one is so hairy her hair on her ears is about6 ins. long. They play really well together. She is an angel too. |

| Jesse was 7 pounds when I got him, but since he's been on a healthy diet, he has bounced up to over 8. I wouldn't be surprised if he tapers of at 9. He's really skinny, too. Most people guess that he's 6 or 7lbs. |

| I have a 4 year old yorkie. She weighed right at seven pounds when she was a year old. Since then, she has had three litters of pups. After each litter she came back a bit bigger. Now she weighs ten pounds but the vet says she is not over weight. Her pups average 6 pounds as adults. But they range in size from 4 to 15 pounds. I think that there is quite a range in the breed since the WWII because they had to rebuild the breed. I also think that the small (<4lbs.) females are not bred as often so how would we know how big their pups would be. I think the biger yorkie is a better family dog, too.

| my barbie is only 3 pounds right now with room for growing because she's only 6 months old but i've never seen a larger yorkie until yesterday when barbie and i were going to get her picture taken with santa. i met the sweetest little girl names veruca and she was 11 months old and 9 pounds. 10 lbs is still a small dog, and i actually said to my boyfriend yesterday that i want my next yorkie to be a larger yorkie! =) i think they seem more unique.. plus my next one is going to be a male and i want barbie to have a real big brother

| I just joined a couple of days ago. I got my Preston from a breeder rescue due to the fact that he was "too big" to fit into the AKC guidelines. He is 5 1/2 months and when we took him to the vet, he weighed 8.8 lbs. The vet said he would expect him to get around 10 when full grown. I don't care how big he gets, as I got him for a pet. He is still beautiful, and perfect, who cares if he is "bigger" than normal. I do know what you mean though, I was in Pet Warehouse the other day, and a worker told another customer that mine must be part silky. I am sure this was because they were trying to sell her one of their yorkies. Anyway, it kind of made me mad, like they were trying to say, "Oh no, yours won't look like THAT, that is a mix." |

| Daisy is 13 lbs and my yorkie mix Teddy Bear is 12 1/2 lbs. I love them this size. Daisy's parents were both around 7 lbs. and Teddy were 9 lbs and 5 lbs so I expected them to be a bit smaller. But I wouldn't have them any other way. They have brought so much joy into my life.

| Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | Abigail is 7.5lbs (maybe 8lbs by now!), and feels muscular - solid. Just the other day, someone came to my home and said of Abigail: "Is that, a uhhh....", ".....Yorkie", I finished for her. "Yeah! But, she's much bigger than the one my daughter wants" One really doesn't want to be rude back, and point out that they need to research the breed before saying something that might embarrass both parties. Hey! Maybe we need to print up a small business-size card with Yorkie FAQs for such occasions.

| My daughter was one of the people out there that wanted that little bitty yorkie to sit in her lap, etc, etc. She paid a very high price for her first yorkie with the statement from the breeder that he would be tiny. Well, he's 12 lbs of complete sweetness and love and the best thing she ever did for her kids. The boys can play with him and not fear hurting him. He can stand in there with them any time! They are still careful with him, but not as much as the second one she got. She bought a little girl that was already 1 yr old so she would know what she would be as a grown dog (3.5 lbs). Although she loves her as much as the larger one, she does complain about how much more care her little one needs. With 3 little boys, 2 dogs, and a cat, she has her hands full and just lets the groomer deal with it. We have a larger female (8.5 lbs) and a smaller male (5 lbs). And as you might guess, our larger Sophie plays with the daughter's larger Chaucey and the 2 smaller dogs (Toby & Maggie) play with each other when we visit. Its really cute to see them pair off like that and play to their hearts' content! Your yorkie is your love - no matter what anyone else thinks - he's perfect! GG |

| Pepper is 15 weeks and weighed 5 lbs 1 oz a week ago. I think she will be on the larger end. my vet says the smaller ones have more probs. I love her to pieces whatever size she is. I also have 2 dogs much larger than her so maybe if she is on the larger end she will stand up to their lovin better.
