| ![]() "This is a website where honest opinions and experiences w/ breeders is much appreciated. People USE these opinions to guide their purchasing a new furry member of their family." At what point are you responsible for doing your own homework? There have been many many threads on how to find a reputable breeder, MOST of the breeders on here do not fit into all the categories. It is, IMO, bad form to discuss any breeder, bad or good on a public forum without having the other side of the story. You can certainly mention red flags on websites or serious health issues within a breeding program but I have seen breeders get blasted here by name for selling a dog that later had LP, I always want to ask...did you let the puppy play Superman and jump off everything? I cannot comment on Staceys breeding program, I know nothing about it but I would think some would be a little more careful in their public responses, I have seen people sued for less on these dog forums ![]() |

Did you have to pay for her, or did you just adopt her? If you paid for her, then I would say that the breeder should be the one footing the vet bills.

| ![]() You can certainly mention red flags on websites or serious health issues within a breeding program but I have seen breeders get blasted here by name for selling a dog that later had LP, I always want to ask...did you let the puppy play Superman and jump off everything? I am commenting on this statement b/c IMO it is un-called for. I happen to have 2 dogs with LP. I have done an ENORMOUS amount of research on LP. Just so you know - DOGS ARE NOT BORN WITH LUXATING PATELLA - That's why SO MANY BREEDERS get AWAY with saying LP is not 'classified' as hereditary!!!! Got news for you - Luxating Patella is hereditary - Dogs that start to have their Patella's Luxate with the first 8 months of life have it b/c it is in their genes. That means the dogs 'bone structure make up' will allow the patella to start to luxate at some point! Sure, can Patella Luxate due to injury? Yes they can also Luxate from injury, which happens to most BIG DOGS. Small dogs like Yorkies - Luxating Patella is Hereditary and MOST Ortho Specialist will tell you so as well as an ENOURMOUS amount of studies and research that is documented all over the place. Like I said - BREEDERS - get a FREE pass b/c (most) Dogs are not born with their patella's luxating ![]() ** Sorry I didn't mean to go off topic, it's just that remark about got me frustrated, yet again. | ![]() As buyers we ARE responsible for doing our own research, but how can we if the facts aren't out there? The facts weren't out there about my breeder, so how was I to know if there were issues? I agree that there are two sides to every story and yes, someone should always have the opportunity to present their side of a dispute. However, if someone won't defend themselves, that can't keep you from expressing your honest opinions. I honestly feel that this posting and others like it are very important to all potential puppy buyers. How else are we to make informed decisions?

However, look at this thread, the posts, and the tone that it has taken. If Stacey DOES have a side to present (which is really no one's business but Michiko's) can anyone blame her for not being gung ho at presenting it at this point? I mean honestly, I think that even if she gave a perfectly understandable explanation at this point, what difference would it make? The damage has been done...and maybe rightfully so, I'm not to say. I just know that if I logged on and came accross 6 pages (in less than 24 hrs) of being drug through the mud, challenged and having had what 'might be the case' regarding my personal life thrown about, I probably wouldn't be so accomodating either. (Of course, even on a good day I wouldn't discuss my business affairs and personal life here, soooo...) I've come to hate it when situations like this are brought up, regardless of who is right or wrong. It's generally a lose-lose situation for all sides. ![]()

Definately try contacting the AKC and any other outlets you can think of. I hope it all works out for you.

Yes I paid for her and I'm not even asking her to give me my money back. I didn't pay much for her but after surgery cost and what I paid for her she's going to be a 3,000 pup.

| ![]() I don't think anyone of the people that posted on this thread said anything 'hurtful' towards Stacy. I think they were all as honest and courteous as possible. And I am sure that they did not even post the 'whole' story. I applaud those that spoke and shared their experience. I am so sorry that you are all going through your own frustrating experience with this particular breeder. I don't think it is fare for anyone to make you feel that you did something wrong by posting. Stacy, as well as other breeders use this site to their advantage, so you have every right to post your experiences with her or any other breeder. Stacy may have issues in her personal life, but those issue don't excuse and they actually have NOTHING to do with "BUSINESS". B/c that's what this all comes down to... The fact is: This was a Business Transaction, first and foremost - Money was exchanged for something (Yorkie) in return. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I totally agree with you 100%..this was a business deal and had this been anyone else they would feel the same way...5 months is plently of time, more than enough time...too much time!! I sell on ebay..it is my responsibility to get buyers their items in a timely manner...its only fair!! I would expect the same from someone I am buying from. Yes things DO come up and a friendly explanation is all that it would take for me to understand a hold up...but being ignored...no way!! Dawn
