I don't think it is fare for anyone to make you feel that you did something wrong by posting. Stacy, as well as other breeders use this site to their advantage, so you have every right to post your experiences with her or any other breeder.

Stacy may have issues in her personal life, but those issue don't excuse and they actually have NOTHING to do with "BUSINESS". B/c that's what this all comes down to...

The fact is: This was a Business Transaction, first and foremost - Money was exchanged for something (Yorkie) in return.
Very well said....I always liked Stacy as a person and can't say about her breeding program... but I have to think something is wrong for her to be ignoring this - at the same time - yes - this IS business and there is a good sum of money involved - if a buyer is promised papers & does their part to uphold the contract - they should receive them ...I do hope this gets resolved for the sake of both parties.

Default breeder

When I respond to a post about a breeder..I rarely look at the name..if Lorriane, who is a close friend, more like my sister, has some my own Yorkies did the same thing I would be on the phone chewing her out..and she would be doing the same if I had treated a client in this manner..
Having no phone, computer doesn't work for me..find a piece of paper and buy a stamp..send me a note..heck, call me collect from a pay phone..BUT communicate with me.

I dont see anyone really bad mouthing anyone. I only see 3 people that have had problems and all of them have had little if no communication with the breeder. That is where the problem lies. It doesnt matter what the problem is, and being a breeder I know for a fact that sh** happens and it doesnt matter how dedicated and respectable you are and how hard you try things are just going to happen anyway. The right thing to do it let the person know what is going on and most of the time if you are being honest with them they will understand and somehow you can get things worked out for both of you. Just ignoring them is plain wrong. I know because I have gotten this same treatment from a breeder too and know how it feels. It is very frustrating.

Personally, I think if she has enough time to log on to this website, he has enough time to respond to Michiko's PMs, phone calls, emails, and this thread..again, thats IMO...

I am commenting on this statement b/c IMO it is un-called for. I happen to have 2 dogs with LP. I have done an ENORMOUS amount of research on LP. Just so you know - DOGS ARE NOT BORN WITH LUXATING PATELLA - That's why SO MANY BREEDERS get AWAY with saying LP is not 'classified' as hereditary!!!!

Got news for you - Luxating Patella is hereditary - Dogs that start to have their Patella's Luxate with the first 8 months of life have it b/c it is in their genes. That means the dogs 'bone structure make up' will allow the patella to start to luxate at some point!

Sure, can Patella Luxate due to injury? Yes they can also Luxate from injury, which happens to most BIG DOGS.

Small dogs like Yorkies - Luxating Patella is Hereditary and MOST Ortho Specialist will tell you so as well as an ENOURMOUS amount of studies and research that is documented all over the place.

Like I said - BREEDERS - get a FREE pass b/c (most) Dogs are not born with their patella's luxating

** Sorry I didn't mean to go off topic, it's just that remark about got me frustrated, yet again.
I know it's a bit off topic but I was told that the hereditary factor in LP is bowed legs and weak cartilage. Do you find this to be true?

As a matter of fact, my girl who had LP corrective surgery that I paid for (all $ involved is over 5K at this point for this surgery) b/c my breeder told me that NONE of her breeding dogs have LP and NONE of her breeding dogs ever produced a pup with LP --- Both her rear legs have a curvature to her bone structure, her one knee cap was facing the wrong way and her grooves that the knee caps are suppose to fit and stay secure were extremely shallow that it was impossible for them to not luxate...But, again - FREE PASS - Patella Luxation 'can' happen from injury too -- That's what my answer to it all was from my breeder -- BULL S***

Wow I'm really shocked to hear about this. I always thought Stacy was a great breeder with the highest of standards I don't know both sides of the story and there usually always is. Life happens sometimes and hopefully nothing bad has happened. Michiko I'm so sorry for what you've gone through. I know how expensive yorkies are, especially Sylvan Yorkies, so I definitely feel that you deserve to get what you paid for and what was in the contract. If she never registered a litter I believe she owes you a substantial partial refund, because Haruka should have been sold as pet quality with no papers if that's the case. I just hope this is a big misunderstanding

I am so sorry you are going through such a tough time. I have read posts that you wrote and just like everyone else you took up a lot of time and research trying to find the best yorkie. I hope things get better soon.

Sad

I think maybe what I said was misunderstood ...business (which is what this is?) is one thing, personal lives are another--as long as it remains fact and isn't speculation, which has been stated about both the business and personal aspects of this--THAT was my concern.

I don't think any of the threee members who posted issues were at fault or to blame or neccessarily out of line. Explaining their experience and issues is within their right, IMO. MY interpretation is that it almost seems like people uninvolved are challenging Stacey to come and hash things out on this here for all to read and I mearly stated that I wouldn't blame her if she chose not to. She's not exactly getting a warm reception here, is she? Maybe with good reason, who knows?

In any case, I exchanged PMs w/ Michicko when she started this thread and she knows where I stand, so that's all that matters.

Default breeders

May I add one last thing...I can make a list of the top Yorkie breeders in the world and ask people to write a positive or negative review. There will not be a single breeder who does not get negative feedback from someon, even more then one.....all types of problems, from health, to temperment to no papers, failure to comply to the contract, puppy wasn't what it was suppose to be..wasn't show quality, breed quality, over priced..on and on...

There is a woman in Va who bought a puppy from me and if you talked to her you would think I am Hitler reincarnated..she hates me..when her name used to come up on caller ID I wanted to throw the phone out the back door...but as a breeder you have to deal with these things.

I applaude you all for coming forward and sharing your stories with such honesty and diplomacy. It's been a tough road that you have had to travel and I am truly sorry for all that you are going through. I think you handled the situation well and I don't feel that you have bashed her at all.

Sylvan has had a great reputaition and she has made a lot of money on that reputation. I hope that she works out this situation to the mutual satisfaction of all parties. I know her pups are pricey because I checked her out when I was looking for a baby.

I honestly can't understand how or why she hasn't responded to you. I know personally I might not have been as diplomatic in my posting if it were me that this happened to. You put a lot of stock in having a healthy and registerable baby and that is what you paid for and that is what you should get.

I personally am glad that you put it out there. I think it's very important that we are able to see the good and bad to ever breeder if it can help in our road to making an informed decision and eventually purchase.

Good luck to you both. I hope you get your papers and Timmy I hope your baby flies through with flying colors.

I'm not taking sides. However, I have to say one thing and that is Timmy mom to Lilly has been very kind in how she has written her posts. If I remember correctly, the adoption fee being asked for Lilly was $500. The heart murmur as it was listed in the post would appear to readers, as if it was really nothing. Very minor. I am not privy to what was said privately between Timmy and Sylvan but Timmy and I have spoken privately as she too is from NU. Now, I know that the Puppy Lemon Law in NJ states that the buyer of a sick pup is entitled to vet fees up to the cost of the pup. I do not know what the PA Puppy Lemon law is or if there is one but can be easily checked. With that said;

The fact that Lilly has more health issues then originally stated in the post would entitle Timmy to atleast get her $500 back if the PA Puppy Lemon Law is similiar to NJ and in fairness whether it is or isn't and whether Timmy is asking or not shouldn't be the issue. Personally since Timmy is going to foot a $3,000 bill to try and save Lilly I think with the reputation Sylvan appeared to have, it would seem that the right thing for Stacy to do is give her her initial $500 adoption fee back to put towards saving Lilly's life. I don't think that is something that should have to be asked but rather something offered by Stacey in Good Will. Timmy is trying to do right by this little girl. Just my oppinion. Elaine

Default I'm in shock

I just read through this entire thread and cannot believe the way this breeder has handled this whole situation regarding all three posters, Michiko, Kalina and Timmy. I fell for each one of you in your seperate situations. Timmy I'm sending thoughts and prayers your way for a safe recovery for Lilly.

Yes there are two sides to every story and although we may never hear the other side, because Stacy probably won't and does not need to post her reasoning on this thread. However she is obligated to give her buyers an explanation for ignoring their calls. At that point the OP can post on this thread that everything has been settled to her satisfaction so that the other YTers following this thread will know that the whole situation has been resolved.
