| My sister was so mad She called me a couple of days ago. She lives in Bristol, VA/Tn area and she has some apts and a couple of houses that she rents. She had been out cleaning them and taking care of some business. She was on some back roads and she saw this little dog right in the middle of the road, she said it almost got hit a couple of times. When, she got closer she noticed it was a yorkie so she stopped to try and catch it to get it out of the road and, the next thing she knew this girl ran off the porch of her trailer yelling at her that, that was her dog and she better not even think about taking it. She tried to explain to her that she was just trying to get it out of the road to keep it from getting hurt. She said she was almost tempted to put her in the car and take off with her. That she figured they weren't taking very good care of it anyways. She was so pissed. Some people are just so whats the word STUPID!!!!!, when it comes to the care of their animals I told my sister that she should get their address and report them to the local animal shelter or humane society and let them go check it out. I don't know if she has yet or not. Sorry I was just as mad as her and though I would vent a little.

| So this lady was watching her dog while it almost got hit? Oh dear...If she doesn't care if the dog is dead, why does she care if someone else takes the dog? Some people I swear... Last night at the homes across the street from me, a little white doggy was funny around outside. There are coyotes, deer, and Lord knows what other wild animals in the forest right NEXT to their house! When Rocky saw this dog he ran up to him, and the dog ran to his front door and started barking, and someone let him in. I just couldn't believe someone would let their dog free-roam like that, number one because all dogs here have to be leashed, and number 2 (but most importantly) because of the wild animals. If I see these neighbors I am going to inform them of the animals.

| We have had animal control out about 3 times over the last month or so on the same people. They have 2 pit bull mixes and they were just letting them run the neighborhood. Well, I've had to chase them out of my fenced in back yard on more than one occasion and they chased one of my neighbors in her house. When they are alone they are not very aggressive but, when they are together they are. So, when I called animal control I told them that I have 2 small dogs and I was afraid that they were going to get hurt by these dogs and when I gave them the address I was told they had been out several times to talk to the owners and I asked them why in the world had they not seized them? He really didn't give me a straight answer. Come to find out a couple of streets over they bit a child and they killed some cats. The animal control officer did tell me that if they were on our property and got aggressive to defend ourselves ever how we had too and we would not face any legal charges as long as they were on our property. Luckily it didn't come to that the man finally built a pen tall enough to where they cannot get out. I told animal control if I had to call them again that they better be prepared to take the dogs with them. In their defense there were about 3 or 4 of the officers running up and down our street trying to catch them. Before the gentlemen built his pen. Since it was built I haven't seen them out at all but, I am keeping an eye out. But, my neighbor was telling me about him building the pen and then about them killing the cats and I told her that I thought whenever something like that happened as far as them killing pets that they were automatically taken. So, they may not be up there because, I've haven't been hearing them bark either. Sorry for rambling.

What did they think was going to happen. We have a big dog Rudy that has the run of our street he is such a sweetheart doesn't bother anyone and will bark when he hears or sees something or someone that does not belong. He belongs to one house but, they really don't take very good care of him. So he is kind of the neighborhood dog. Our neighbors at the top of the street take care of him alot. They buy food for him and she keeps food and water out for him on their front porch and he will either sleep on their front porch or under one of their decks. Animal control knows about him and knows that he won't hurt anyone or anything(so far), the gentlemen from animal control that is responsible for this area doesn't bother Rudy but, he has told the owners that if he were to get a call on him that he couldn't stay out any longer. I honestly don't think that the owners care much for him. Our neighbors that keep him feed most of the time are planning on taking him and getting him bathed to get rid of possibly any fleas and letting him stay in their house this winter. The other neighbors won't care at all. Their druggies anyway sometimes I don't know that they even think they have a dog. Anyway sorry again for rambling.

| I don't understand why people let their pets wander. I get nervous if I drop Howie's leash to play ball. Let alone let him wander around the neighborhood unattended. I'm pretty sure if I were to release him on his own that he would never come home. Your sister was right for being pissed!!

I do not blame her for being PO. I rescued a yorkie years ago in an apartment complex in NC. I had a friend who lived there at the time. Every time I'd visit I kept seeing this little guy running around all over the PARKING LOT! He tried to jump in my car the first time I saw him. He was skinny and matted. I did many days of "spying" and evaluating this situation. I finally realized he was always out there day and NIGHT. I went to a couple doors the day I finally had had enough. I was told by the residents that he wandered the parking lot every day...and that he "belonged" to a family on the top level. Needless to say this little guy made his way to the yorkshire terrier national rescue which I am a guardian angel and contributor to. He now lives with a wonderful couple and doesn't have to wander around crowded parking lots in the hot summer searching for food and love. Thanks YTNR! And especially Sandy! | ugh, what responcible owner lets ANY type of dog roam loose? I've yelled at my neighbors for letting their huge lab run loose in the neighborhood. I am a firm believer in either get a fence, or keep your dog inside and take it out on a leash. There is NO reason for any dog to be roaming loose, big or small.

| I HATE ROAMING DOGS!!! It is not the dogs that I hate but the owners. Small dogs you are just asking for them to be hurt, huge dogs you are just asking for them to hurt someone else or their pups! All of you have I am sure seen the post about the horribly aggressive unnuetered pitt allowed to roam free here in our development...Animal control has done virtually nothing and I as the other poster have taken the I will defend myself and Bruce and I an all costs approach...Your sister had a right to be POed, and I would have been too!

| "I HATE ROAMING DOGS!!! It is not the dogs that I hate but the owners." This is one of my "pet peeves" too -- I have always kept my dogs in my own yard, either fenced or at my side. But so many do not care. Every morning a huge Golden Retriever and two labs come to take their community dump in my front yard. These piles look like they came out of a horse. Worries me too -- if they let their dogs roam, do they even get them checked for worms and diseases? I wish we could fence the front yard too.

Do you know where the dog lives? If I were you, I would bag the poop up, put it in a little gift bag and bring it to them Allowing a dog to poop on other lawns and not cleaning it is one of my pet peeves of some dog owners, wait it's not a pet peeve, it's just something that shouldn't be tolerated period!
