We have had animal control out about 3 times over the last month or so on the same people. They have 2 pit bull mixes and they were just letting them run the neighborhood. Well, I've had to chase them out of my fenced in back yard on more than one occasion and they chased one of my neighbors in her house.
When they are alone they are not very aggressive but, when they are together they are. So, when I called animal control I told them that I have 2 small dogs and I was afraid that they were going to get hurt by these dogs and when I gave them the address I was told they had been out several times to talk to the owners and I asked them why in the world had they not seized them? He really didn't give me a straight answer.
Come to find out a couple of streets over they bit a child and they killed some cats. The animal control officer did tell me that if they were on our property and got aggressive to defend ourselves ever how we had too and we would not face any legal charges as long as they were on our property.
Luckily it didn't come to that the man finally built a pen tall enough to where they cannot get out. I told animal control if I had to call them again that they better be prepared to take the dogs with them.
In their defense there were about 3 or 4 of the officers running up and down our street trying to catch them. Before the gentlemen built his pen. Since it was built I haven't seen them out at all but, I am keeping an eye out.
But, my neighbor was telling me about him building the pen and then about them killing the cats and I told her that I thought whenever something like that happened as far as them killing pets that they were automatically taken. So, they may not be up there because, I've haven't been hearing them bark either.
