| I could cry...they cut her hair Awhile ago I posted that I was trying hard to grow Ginger's hair out, (i'd always kept her in a puppy cut). Many of you had lots of great advice and were very supportive. Recently, I decided to take her to the groomers for a clean up (pads, bottom, maybe ears) and once again was given great advice on yorkie time about her ears and tail. So, when I got to the groomers today, I was VERY CLEAR. I asked them to pluck her ears (inside), tip them (we discussed this) and clean up her pads, and if necessary, her back side. I asked them NOT to cut anywhere else as I was working on GROWING HER HAIR. Mind you, last night was the first time that I got a bow in her hair that incorporated some of the hair above her eyes. She looked so cute! Anyway, when I picked her up they had done everything I asked PLUS, trimmed about an inch off her eyebrows, beard and face. Goodbye cute little bow! Of course, she's still cute to me, but apparently I'm going to have to learn to be a groomer. We WONT be going back!

| Oh how horrible, I don't blame you for being uspet. What part of "don't cut her hair" didn't they understand. I've always groomed my own, it's not that hard if you have the time. |

| Darn these people that can't listen to direction! I'm sure she still looks darling, but I'd be upset too! I guess it's to start all over growing it out and I'm sorry you had that happen!

| thank for your kind words and for letting me vent. I know in the overall scheme of things, it's really no big deal...I'm just really annoyed!

| groomer I know it is maddening..there is no excuse for not doing as the customer requests. Although I have made a few msitakes in my grooming career...I got so busy one day I forgot which cut went on which dog..so I touched the shoulder area with the clipper blade, then suddenly realized that dog stayed in full coat..there was bare spot about the size of a 50 cent piece. |

| How disappointing... my dd (human LOL) once got her hair cut too short by a beautician who obviously didn't bother to follow instructions. Dh didn't hover over her like mom would've :0 We were both so sad as she had beautiful long hair. We cried and it took a whole summer b4 she could even put it in a pony tail again. The old adage, it will grow back, was only mildly helpful. You're doing a great job keeping a stiff upper lip & a good perspective. I'd be curious if you find a good resource on grooming. Smiles & good wishes, C |

| Pixel was at the groomer last week and she gave him an absolutely awful haircut. It is all choppy and uneven. We can commiserate at the play group this weekend!!! |

| Personally I wouldn't have paid them a dime since they obviously did not follow your directions. I've done grooming too - a good groomer will write your special instructions down so as to not "forget" during the busy hours. There is no excuse for that.

| I hope you told them what they did wrong and I hope they didn't charge you. I'm trying to grow out Brandy's bangs and it seems like it is taking forever. I would be really mad it they were trimmed against my orders.

| I feel your pain. The same thing happened to Max. A groomer at Petco was recommended to me by another yorkie owner and when I picked him up his hair was completely butchered. He wasn't trimmed like I requested and to make matters worse, his hair was uneven EVERYWHERE. I could have done a better job myself! I was so irritated and I couldn't even refuse to pay because you have to pay before you pick up your dog at Petco. I now drive an hour to a pet resort and spa for grooming. Max and Abbie's groomer does a fabulous job and they get massages while they're there--AND it's $10-15 cheaper!!! |

| I feel bad for you but we've all had bad haircuts. You have 2 choices, you either learn how to groom OR you find a groomer you trust and you stick with him/her. Personally I'm all for option #2 and I have a groomer I like and trust for my yorkie. She knows what I want and expect and she delivers. Yes, it'll grow back and trust me you little girl is WAY less upset over a bad haircut than you are. All she cares about is that she is loved and has fun. Trust me my yorkie is, she's busy licking my toes (hard at work!) as I type this If you have the time, learn how to groom your yorkie If you don't shop around, ask questions and try to find a groomer that listens to what you want and does a good yorkie cut. Good luck! |

| I'm normally easy going and very forgiving and understanding with my groomers. BUT - when anyone so wholeheartedly wants a special cut and gives as explicit instructions as you did - it's totally beyond my understanding how they can do almost the opposite of what you asked. I can certainly forgive not getting the exact cut you wanted, but sounds like they turned their hearing aid off when you explained how you wanted your pup's hair cut. I'm sorry. I wouldn't use the same groomer again! Carol Jean |

| All Yorkies are still adorable even after a bad haircut I can't understand why some groomers will stand there and listen to people explain what they want done and then do everything wrong. My friend is a groomer and every dog I've seen leaving her shop has looked great, except mine. Jersey went in to have her ears, paws and behind trimmed up and to have her nails painted. When I picked her up I was upset, she was still cute as ever but the groomer/my friend had cut her hair all over and the hair on her head was really short. She looked like a Schnauzer. I hated to say anything since the groomer is a friend and I see her often...she keep calling wanting me to bring my baby back in to see her and I don't know what to say. My girl really needs to be trimmed a little and have her nails cut, the only other groomer in town is right down the street and I don't want to hurt my friends feelings by going there.
